Lady Pink, thrilling Graffiti artist from Lower Eastside Girls Club on Vimeo.

The Art/Geo crew visited the WOODWARD GALLERY on Eldridge Street.
We met with Christine Woodward, the curator and founder of the Woodward Gallery.
She explained that it’s not just about hanging art work on empty walls and having opening parties.
Christine talked about her special closeness with Lady Pink. The paintings of Sandra Fabara, aka,
Lady Pink filled the gallery walls with color and politics. Lady Pink was introduced to graffiti at age 15.
In a few years, she was known as the only female capable of competing with boys in the graffiti subculture.
She painted subway cars from 1979-1985, NOTE: Sound is kinda off!
