i believe they're called vinyl toys. i like them but dont plan on collecting them. at 6bucks a pop to stand there an look sweet to a bit rich for my blood. i'd like them alot better if their blanks were so damn expensive.

I agree, this collection is small, but if you continue, then it will be big. Which one is the tooth? I mean the representive reason for collecting this body of items.

A collection has three elements: the HEAD, the TOOTH, and the BODY. The HEAD are the rare and highest value of either money or sentiment interest. The TOOTH defines the reason why you started the collection in the first place. The BODY is the whole collection including and/or excluding the HEAD and TOOTH.

also - what is your shelf and support made from? It looks like acrylic and stainless steel. anyways, cool.

also2 - what do you mean by urban?

I had the same outlook on Skateboarding for a while , after I started in 1986 . I stopped caring about the whole fad and trend of Tony Hawk video games and ESPM , Gravity Games bullshit and had a lot more fun back like when I was 12 and starting . :)

this things -as you call dem- from 5 years ago are like golden on todays market,so im not sure of what you saying..

and im not sure if you are talking about vintage spray paint or these silly ass toys...im not denying these things are selling well right now. what im saying is that in 4 or 5 years no one is going to give a shit and what was going for $300 on ebay now will be going for $40 in a few years. market-wise, its a fad.

thats what im saying.

Nic Thamaire
02-11-2007, 11:00 PM
well, once again,im not sure that the toys made by artists like Michael Lau,Futura or Kozik will be very low price even in 5 years,as i told you some piece from 5 or 10 years ago are mad expensive right now and still..i've been here for almost 7 years,i mean on 12oz,if im stlll alive ill prolly check it again in 5 more years so we can discuss this again,,hehehehe..

What's the retail price of these?

I believe that if you really love a certain graf artist you would collect as much of their work as you can even if it's a toy. What it's worth in 5 years really shouldn't matter.

yeah.

Nothing personal (and I'm not saying I'm a fan of these toys) but I'm pretty sure you or at least your parents would have some form of 'useless' ornament such as a plate, vase, painting, or something like that in the home.

i think stop while your ahead, a few months down the line your gunna be posting your whole collection on ebay and trying to get your money back, you might make more back you might make less.

the urban toy secen or whatever you wanna call it,is outa control and is to hard to follow and keep up. if your into that stuff.

I dig them. Good idea. But I can not see spending the money I earn on them. I'd support the artist by buying them if I had a nice fat bank account. But I do not.

ms.seyer
04-02-2008, 04:43 AM
Don't buy them. I used to be into the whole collecting shit, but now looking at it, it has no use. I was stupid to buy them. It's kinda like that Beanie Baby plaque. Although the graphics are cool to look at.

I bought a couple blank Munnies but have yet to finish them. The fatcap series is freakin sweet! I've got the toofly fatcap and dunny.

I'm a graphic designer and they're sitting above my desk in the office. The colors and designs on those toys are fantastic!

Eff the haters....just cuz you can't rack em doesn't mean they're worthless.
