OVERVIEW:
Rust-Oleum Anti-Graffiti Coating is a clear durable, anti-stick coating. The one time application does not allow paint, graffiti, permanent marker, stickers or other markings to bond to the dry film. It can be used to protect just about any surface – including: concrete, brick, masonry, painted wood and metal. Reapplication is only needed if coating is damaged.

I would imagine that if you really wanted to after getting up in a spot that is often buffed... you could go over yours with this and it would be much harder for them to buff it. That is a shit ton of work though just for one spot.

it should work because if on somebodys house has paint on it and they say that it protects the surface than just because its graffiti the anti graff rusto doesnt have a mind of its own and isnt gunna go "hey thats a throw...im not gunna work". its gunna work the same as if on a painted brick or mason work.

If you expect the product to turn your paint to water on whatever surface it comes in contact wiht, it wont, but it does make painting things coated in thsi stuff more difficult.

1. that shit would be hella expensive for people to use on the regular.
2. it would be easier for people to just repaint than use this stuff.
3. the amount of time you put in to let your tag/piece dry then add a coat of this to 'prevent' slashes and buffs you be better off just hitting 5 more spots.

Hard buff (sandblast style) will take this stuff off, as well as whatever is on top of or underneath it, so I don't see much hope for preserving graff with it.
The question is whether it makes surfaces more difficult to paint, or makes it easier to buff whatever gets painted on top of it (via easy solvent/powerwash buff).

ever tried painting a semi wet surface? paint sticks, but not well? this is basically what this shit does

I've tried to get marker tags on metal boxes in this one city and the shit straight up wouldn't take.
Shit was like a black hole for ink.
Like trying to write with a dried out empty marker, except my shit was juiced.

i've run into that problem too. although the fact remains that every compound as it's anti-compound, or solvent. so normal spray paint is broken down by alochol. this chemical that coats the surface has a solvent. yeah i don't know what it is and im assuming, but c'mon, nothing is destruction proof.

so i wonder, could you find a solvent for this anti-graf business and mix it with an ink that is not broken down by said solvent? this, in theory, would alllow you to write on the surface. the tags would be drippy as fuck, as the solvent would make the clear coat run.

fuck im bored (working at a call center).

and for the anti graff rusto, i agree with pistol
you'd be better off hitting another spot instead of waiting for the paint to dry to add the anti graff rusto

I disagree.

1. Rack the shit. And if you have the money, then buy the shit. Whatever.
2. There's plenty of spots that are mad visible that you can spend an extra minute on if you know when to duck. Coming back to repaint would take WAAAAAYYY more time and effort than just coating the shit the first time around.
3. Most fillins take a couple minutes or more anyways. What's an extra minute?

Seriously though... Do you even write?

if you seriously think that shit will preserve your piece, your a fuckin retard

all that does is prevent ink/paint from being absorbed by the wall. kinda like a spray on condom if you will

point is, you can paint over that shit no problem. its just not going to permanently get the wall. you know how some walls get buffed and you see the ghost of the tag still on the wall? thats what this prevents, so when they buff it, its clean. and buff proof ink? when you paint over that shit, its like you paint is on IT, not the wall, so it saves the wall. get it?

why do you think the label has a picture of a graffiti covered door being wiped clean with a rag? because thats how the shit works

thats it. thats all it does

this wont make your shit ride forever, keep dreamin

Rustoleum doesnt care if people rack, in fact they might even like it. They are not the one paying fo that, its the stores. When paint gets racked, the store has to go out and buy more rustoleum, making them more money.

But coating your piece would make it last significantly longer, and not fade, FYI.

But then the stores have to raise the prices on the shit that gets racked to try and make up for the losses and people who actually buy paint for legit purposes go for the cheaper shit. Cause they don't know any better, it's all the same to them.
So in the long run Rusto actually does lose some money when their shit sits on the shelves longer than it should.

Just sayin.

yeah, not always, and yes, dao is right, it just causes the store to raise prices
