So far i've come to the conclusion that GRAFF WRITERS:
-Have one of the highest suicide rates (or have the most suicidal thoughts)
-Care most on what other people think of them..
-Are 90% alcaholics..
-Are 10 times most likely to stab someone with a sharpened toothbrush or any sharp object(when compared to a non-writer)
-Would most likely win in a round of snaps/disses.. or any game where it required really good and funnyass comebacks..

graff writers come in all different shapes and sizes. i think that is one thing about it i love. the fact that nobody knows that your the one on a nightly basis that throws burners on freights or puts throw ups on buildings downtown that they see everyday.

yesterday i was standing at my car and this guy walked over to me and asked me if i knew anything or had seen anything having to do with graffiti around this shopping center. i asked him if there was any graff around still that they had not buffed that i might look at just to see if it was anybody i knew. he showed me a marker tag and said that the kids had been doing it a lot and he wants to find out because he has to clean the shit up. well i just told him that im sorry for his loss and that if something comes up i will tell the kids to come by and bring six of there friends so this big landscape dude could knock there 15 year old heads off... i love the fact nobody knows what goes on at night...

Most writers are more egotistical than non writers
they are mostly (not all) marginally educated
most feel that the world should bend over backwards for them just because they write
they think that graffiti is truly a culture and is oppressed by "the man"
They take their shit too seriously and often times think graffiti is "their life" (because they have nothing else going for them)
They seem to believe that graffiti culture should override all others, and they dont understand how laws and the rule of law seems to function in society probably due to their marginal education
They are overly agressive and defensive, and fail to analyze things fully before acting out in hostility


There are ofcourse exceptions to everything
but thats what ive noticed

Okay, well, I understand how it can get annoying when someone doesn't have common knowledge on something that they choose to be a part of. I get you there. What we disagree on is what common knowledge is. The reason I realize the irony of, say, Nace's situation is because I know people who knew people who were in the car, so I heard about it very soon after it happened, and it always affects you more when it's someone you know (friend of a friend, celebrity, or otherwise). Of course, I have read the thread since, but I wouldn't expect a fourteen year old to know these things.

Not every kid can afford style wars or rack magazines from the mid 90's, or even have internet access. I'm sure there are people out there who have gone entire careers without ever having met more than five writers. Plus, things change, and never more drastically than in the world of graffiti.

I'm just saying, I think it's unrealistic to expect people from all over the world to know about the personal choice of one writer; to put that knowledge up there with, say, Taki 183, or David Gunn, or whoever. I mean, I used to tell my one buddy about what I think of as important history, and he would just tell me to shut up; that he didn't care. Regardless, he is a very skilled writer. You can't expect everyone to give a fuck, but you can choose to respect those who do, is all I'm saying.
