wellington new zealand. i visited there for a bit. my grandparents are over there. there is lots of beer. lots of skate spots and lots and lots of assorted trains. Also if you are white you can rack any thing you want. (it is my experiance that alot of people in new zealand only watch the mauri peoples, bloody racist buggers) There is no glass etching, not many writers around to crowd the scene, hardly any cops, no buff.... And for those like me who like to paint rail sidings there are quite a few quiet rail way sidings to paint. nothing like a chilly night in new zealand with some spray paint. the only trouble is.... the weather. some times the rain can get damned annoying.

Copenhagen

Barcelona is a cool place. It has a metro and a commuter train system to rock too. It has literally graffiti everywhere and all sorts of street art and hippy stuff. It has a beach, great nightlife, lots of alleyways and side roads to paint and a real creative atmosphere to the place. Everyone should go there and paint. When I wass on my way to the airport to go home, I saw someone bombing the emtro station during morning rush hour, no-one said a word to him. Then he got on the train and got insides too. Again no one even batted an eyelid.

Amsterdam is a mental place and creative place too . Ride around on the metro or commuter trains and you see non-stop colour pieces for miles and the centre has loads of street bombing. Also weed is legal and in the red light district the girls are in the windows showing their wares. Heaven!

Copenhagen I have only visited once, but seemed like a cool place. Beautiful blondes riding bikes over cobblestoned streets sticks in my head most, but I have vague memories of there being lots of style there and a lots ot action too. Transit was rocked and styles along all the tracks. Oh and don't forget Cristiana for your weed either.

I'd have to go with Prague in the Czech republic - it's like a cross between Barcelona and Amsterdam. Bombing everywhere, cheap strip joints, good weather, and the beer (as well as everything else) is so cheap! They have a subway, local trains with runners, full colour tracksides. If it's for tagging, lots of German cities are really cool like Berlin for example.
For passenger trains, many European countries are cool to hit, it just depends what your favorite kind of steel !! And if you cannot chose, just go on interrail !! :crazy:
According to me, in the last 10 years, you had to change the city you were visiting depending on the situation.
Being in Amsterdan in the early '90ies would have been so coool.
After that, going to Paris was a must...
In 96, a trip to Rome was definetily worth it before visiting the Eastern cities like Warsaw...
And now, you gotta to try Belgium as I've never seen so many trains in traffic as the last 6 months !

from what i personally saw any city in japan is ideal for a writer. the seen is still in its infancy, the police dont really care much about it and there aren't any heros who will try to stop you on the street. theres TONS smooth surfaces for markers and what nots. spots to paint are endless. the only thing you can't really hit are trains (theres not enough room to even catch a tag on the inside at times, cause everyone is packed in.) you could hit the outsides cause the yards looked pretty lax, but they wont let it run. getting supplys there isnt a hardship either cause five finger discount oppotunities are endless. wish i could go back.

East Oakland is possibly the worst place to bomb sometimes. Scary at night, it'll be really quiet then you hear a few gunshots.
