why is it disabled.. if its an option then give it to us. i think that it would be rather handy since some people dont have AIM. well i would like see what you all think.

Its probably a bad timing for a thing like that. I get the impression that the board is gettin more chat-orienteted lately.
I think that the private messaging option would dramaticly change the forum in a bad way. Technically speaking i also think that it would slower the whole site but thats common sense not actual fact, so maybe.

its a shoddy feature. we were having trouble with it before we launched the new site, and never quite got it working.

seriously the thing is more hassle than its worth. plus, it puts a shit load more storage on our servers, which costs 12oz alot more money, which just isnt going to happen.

not to mention that its not like AIM or anything like that, its like a little email server. you send an email to someone, they get it then send it back. plus, you can only store like ten messages, and if you dont delete them constantly, they get bounced back. its just a badly designed feature, trust us.
