Why are drugs an issue now and not 5 years ago. Drugs are as much involved in graffiti now as they've always been.
I admit that style has dissapeared somewhat from melburns scene, but what are ya gonna do.

I know it may be a big call but lately ive been dissapointed with what i see...

Drugs have always been a problem, i know that, but from what i personally see around me and know ppl who are into it, its an absolute waste of life. Whats the point on spending a couple of hundred dollars a year, or maybe even a month on horse, speed or anything else that flicks your switch, when you could be putting that money to a more sensible cause.
When i say style has dissapeard from melbs, i mean that there are no inovaters for style. Youve got WCA, who are renowned for there styles but we know them and always will love them, but there no one NEW.
The only two that tickle my fancy are reto and skwig

Yer i guess when i said "no one NEW" i might've been a little hard on the scene.

The Melbs scene has its fair share of writers, i said the comment of graffiti loosing its spirit because everyone is now only in graff for the criminal aspect, thes only a handful of writers who (sorry for the corny cliche) "STAY TRUE".

What happened to doing graff to be creative or doing it for fun.

Whenever it comes to things like this where you pick your favourites, i can never think of anybody but the obvious choices. I'll give it a shot and make comments on people others have said.

Arena - Def one of my favs at the moment. People tell me he's just doing the "belgrave lilydale" style that everyboy else has done, which i agree with except for the fact that i thnk he's updated it.

Them - i don't like his stuff. I give him props for going out and doing all the damamge that he's done, but i don't think he's quite got the idea of good lettering in his grasp. Same goes to his sidekick.

Igs - I like it. Your lettering's dope, but it's also your fills and other ideas that appeal to me.

Meant and Wuz - I didn't really want to talk about these two, because it'll inflate their already oversize heads but, wow, what can i say. Ever since these 2 came out and started killing. I've been mightily impressed. These are dudes who aren't afraid to push the envelope when it comes to letter boundaries and be experimental and more often than not, it pays off. The same applies to pretty much all of CI at the mo.

Say a name if you want to hear Evil Dees expert opinion.

i doubt that phib's flinders wall is connex/mtrain commissioned. that walls on private land. owned by the same people(s) as Banana Alley vaults as far as i know. I dont think that train companies are paying for walls to be painted at flinders when 2 stations down they are regularly slashing pieces.

Reto - I really like his stuff. He's coming out and doing new shit without biting from anywhere. He's got oodles of style.

Elite - I cant think of anything by elite, show me a flick.

Seck - He's got alright stuff, but he's got a long way to go.

Renks - I like his new stuff for the same reasons i said for meant and wuz. He's doing completely original shit, that nobodies ever though of doing before. I give him props to for trying new stuff.

Tair - I really like his stuff. It's what i'd call typical graffiti. To me it seems to be very aesthetically correct and it looks damn good.

Puzle - I don't like his new stuff compared to his old stuff, but everybody advances in style and it would be hard to do now what he did 10 years ago. But i'd love to see one more galv in his oldschool style.

By the way, i saw the with, chun etc etc running down cranbourne line at 3.30.

Um...... street zines, what street zines, ive only ever seen one of his pictures in a magzine, and if he is a legal wall-erwho has never bombed in his life, then why is his stuff up and down the lines. Melbs has to have one of the best scenes in the world.
