His name was Deak and all he longed for in life was to write his name up amongst those daring enough to enter a McDonalds washroom. "One day I'll be the name they see!" His longing grew into a deep seeded sickness, until one day he found himself at a walgreens purchasing a silver sharpie! "This is it! I will go all out with this device! Silver blings! I will get mentioned!" He said to himself as the cashier bagged his brand new silver sharpie. He rushed out of walgreens thinking of the nearest McDonalds within the vicinity. His memory interlocked with pure adrenalyn filled instinct... he soon found himself brushing by the frustrating lines of big mac deprived customers, he was closing in on the entrance to the washroom. He entered. A furvor over took him. It did not matter that the entire room had been pissed on. The homeless man that dwelled in every McDonalds washroom, whose only goal in life was to create a bathtub out of a toilet bowl; was to match for what was about to happen. Deak was about to attain "ups." Deak proceeded towards the wall brandishing his sharpie. He was not about to draw a big penis nor was he going to spell-out "fuck you whiteboy." He was going for the outline of his throwie... maybe with a fill... all silver sharpie... sick. he extended his writing device, when all-of-a-sudden a voice cried out. "You write?" the voice asked. Deak turned around to see who was asking such a question. "I asked you if you write." The voice beckoned. "I get ups in here also." Deak was taken back. Had he found his long awaited partner? "I write Deak, can I give you a high-five?" "Ofcourse you can, I write Neato! Lets be friends! I think we sould jock tok together!" "Yes! Yes!" Deak responded with a glimmer in his eye.

Graffiti vandals struck the Illinois Railway Museum outside Union
sometime in late January, spray-painting elaborate symbols on antique
Chicago Transit Authority cars-- including two that had been painstakingly
scrubbed after similar incidents two years ago.

After those incidents the museum spent about $30,000 on fences and
cameras in hopes of deterring vandals.

But on Saturday, workers discovered extensive damage to four cars in a
storage area of the museum. The cleanup cost is estimated at $8,000,
and museum officials are considering asking to borrow or lease the
cleaning machines Chicago uses in its Graffiti Busters program. McHenry
County sheriff's police are asking for help tracking down the vandals.

"It's called vandalism, but it's really criminal damage to
property," Detective David Mullen said.

Mullen said there is no way to determine whether the latest damage
is related to the incidents two years ago. He said the county rarely
sees the "professional"-looking graffiti that is scrawled on the museum's
rail cars.

One car had been renovated by the museum, painted in the green,
orange and cream colors that were popular on CTA cars in the 1950s. Now,
the restored colors are covered by grays, pinks, whites and reds. Police
found seven spray-paint cans from the scene but were unable to recover
any fingerprints.

"This isn't the kind of stuff you see around McHenry County," said
Dave Diamond, buildings and grounds superintendent at the museum. "It's
very unusual. Out in the country, you expect just the simple spray
paint--`Billy Loves Susie,' that kind of nonsense.

"Perhaps it's a sign of suburban sprawl."

Diamond said that in 2001, vandals struck in January and March. And
while police suspected it to be the work of a known graffiti vandal in
Cicero, Diamond said questioning did not lead to any arrests.

"It was a dead end," he said. "Nobody confessed to anything."
