Orlando is slept on.

There's a bunch of heads there who kill it, but the real parts of city aren't really near Disney so tourists never see shit.

A few areas have been hammered by both out-of-towners and locals in the last couple of years. Crook actually did a couple of spots, some other Miami cats did a few things. The local heads are on top of shit, though. They just have their shit in the tourist areas getting buffed constantly so you rarely see the real live spots unless it's the day after or something.

But the expressways are what's up. There's a few things that have been running on those for YEARS. Heads don't even know.

I don't think the cops are any more ill than they are in Miami or other places; Florida in general is just full of dickhead cops. Miami heads would be refreshed to come through there and handle shit, it isn't NEARLY as spot-blown as Miami or the rest of South Florida ... and there's rack spots all over.

Crome gets my props for many different things, and thatz why he was one of those in the top of the list for FLORIDA this last decade for me and for many different reasons.
But he does not hold the GREENSIGN title or what ever you want to call it, he was one of those who brought it back and gave it more popularity, but MOS had more than 15 running at the same time, (don't know how much exactly but I'll find out) and then came SEZ and DAS and then just two years ago ESON and HETE did their thing too, and during the same time, couple months after that VOR got a couple of signs on the list too.

My first tag in 1983 the year I arrived from NY to Miami was Shorty Rock BBC (BBoys Connection) Which was more of a BBoy name than a Graffiti tag but it was the first one I started bombing with. There were many other BBoy crews in CC that I remember NBC (Nations Badest Creation), Floor Masters, UFO (United Floor Organization), FBI, etc. I don't know if any of these crews extended outside of CC because I had no need to venture out of CC back then. As BBoying started to fade writers began to emerge. In 1983/84 my cousin Pac 1 moved from NY to Miami and we started a crew named TGA (The Ghetto Artist) by then I had changed my tag to Pez. My man Roz aka Izzy and his older brother Faze who were also from NY and also original members of TGA. Other writers around at that time were Sine and Mech (I cant remember what crew) but they probably did the first piece in CC. Other CC writers back then were Ski 158, Mike 168 and True 2 (who also use to write Abomb and who I later inherited my current tag from) they were down with TDK (The Def Kings). Shorty MCC was also active at the time and probably did the second piece I can remember in CC. There were many other writers in CC back then but I cant remember names right now. The only outside writers back then to catch a tag in CC was Morky and ACDC. About 1985 or 1986 most Carol City kids including myself turned to other shit like gangs (MCC aka Carol City Boys, The Block Boys, 22 ave and others) or began selling dope or snatching chains and robbing krackers. About 1986/87 I met the original phone gangster Tati aka EMO (Eat Me Out) and that's when I found out that there was other cats writing in Miami. About 87/88 Trash aka Kahn and Ricky( I cant remember what else he wrote) appeared and where also from CC. Dont get me wrong. I commend you on the fact that you have the will to paint, are doing pieces, and getting creative.

I FULLY agree that Graff should be fun. I had mad fun when I was writing, Sometimes I still do. However, there are certain UNWRITEN codes in this game.

GETTING UP is one of them. Back in the day, before Legal Walls, even PIECES were considered BOMBING. Now it seems alot of "writers" who only piece, consider themselves "artists" and want to skip the whole part of their career when they are supposed to pay dues.

I think doing ONLY LEGALS, is a cop out. ALOT of writers who put in the hours on the street see it the same way.
Imagine the respect you would recieve if you di nice burners AND you got busy in the streets too.

As far as your skills, whatever. You CAN piece, I don't happen to like your style, but thats MY opinion, I'm a LETTER SPECIALIST, so I look for lettering style above all else. Blends and colors and background don't impress me.

I don't have to know u to judge you. In graff it's not the individual that matters, it's the name, the style, the action that matters. Judging by your letter structure, I say you got a long way to go. So just go, you'll evolve or maybe not.

It don't matter what the writer behind the style thinks, it all comes throgh clearly in his work.

Im a writer, not an aerosol "artist", not a graffiti "artist" I WRITE my name, be it a tag, a throw up a straight letter or a burner.

I write the name, often, and with STYLE.

I'm glad to see that this thread somehow managed to recover from all the bullshit beef that started to drag it down cause frankly, I'm getting sick of closing Miami threads.

It's an embarrasment to see how much shitty attitude and bullshit still plagues that place, particularly considering how the scene there's been dwindling since 1990, when everyone thought gangbanging would be more fun than writing, and making money became more important than struggling for fame. Regardless, of what anyone wants to try and convince themselves of, no one's been in a position to have any type of bragging rights down there for many many years now.

Obviously, Miami has a rich history and a personal style all it's own. Many people around here should really be humbling themselves to some of the heads posting that are actually pioneers to it, rather than bickering like old ladies over shit that's inconsequential. Here's an opportunity to learn about Miami and what made it original back in the 80's, cause once it did have a style worthy of respect and a flavor all it's own.

Understand your culture and study its history. It's a noble legacy, and I guarantee you'll have a lot of good times reclaiming it.
