It looks like a sorry attempt to bite an old WEB piece he did on the 2 line, fill ins and all. he just turned the W upside down, but couldn't figure out the connections and pumps. HA HA

The character looks like a wann-be DOZE TC5 mug from the 3 line, but couldn't get the profile right.

The right hand is a bite from an old TACK FBA insect character from the 1 line, but couldn't get the arm and elbow right.

About the only thing original is the left hand, thats why it sucks and looks all retarded, and that FUCKED up shirt he's wearing.

I know Skep & Cose burn. I was just saying on that specific wall, I feel they didnt give it their best. I mean Skep's letters and colors were just like...I wasn't feeling them. I've seen him do much better, and most of the time I enjoy Skep more than cose, but Cose came better than Skep. Im just trying to say with all the quality pieces on that wall, they could have put a little more effort, and came out with some more quality pieces. Also, I didn't mean to say they cant burn because they're young. If I did then I must have missed it. You dont have to be 27 to start burning. The younger the better.

I am curious to see the work of skep and cose, to see what all the hoopla is about.

95% of the current writers in Miami, don't have a clue as to what burning is about, and certainly no one in this post thus far has any BURNING credentials to speak of.

So, who are any of you to judge?

Back in the day 16 year olds had been writing for years and were masters already. It is rare to see that today when most people don't even start writing till they are in their "trendy" twenties.

There are a few youngins in Miami I can name that Burn/Burned (Blur, Teal, View) at least in the last few years.
GOOD LETTER STRUCTURE, plus good style, colors technique etc...


However, I can't keep up with them all since I dont live there anymore.

Let's see them.. these youngins you speak of...

Ok, about these 2 kids...

The one kid COSE, yes, he is able to execute a piece. meaning throw a sketch, fill it in and finish it. but NO, he is not dope, by any stretch of the imagination.

He obviously has some degree of paint control and color concept, but not close at all to burning.

I would say, maybe 50 - 100 more straight letter pieces, and let his style develope gradually. A weak wildstyle don't do him justice, he should stick to the basics, and progress. his shit reminds me of some awkward copenhagen style from the magazines.

My problem is with kids who jump into wildstyle with no actual foundation of letters, and just ad points and curves and sticks to their shit.. it's horrible what passes for a good piece these days.



His man SKEP has problems.
He has paint control to a much lesser degree, but he should defenitly do about 1000 more throw ups to develope his control further.
His letters are very painfull to look at. No style at all to speak of. He should stick to Block Letters to get his name out there and practice staight letters in his book. Colors are awfull too.

I would say Cose, for his age has SOME potential. Skep, well back to the lab kid.

Not to mention both of those names are taken by COSE TDS 4 line, SKEP IBM 1 line both writers from the early and mid 80s.

I wasn't mad at the character, although it had a bit too much detail for my taste.

So far in this post the closest things to a decent Burner, are the 3 CURE pieces, although he has a ways to go, and the MEK piece with the Scooter parked in front.
Other than that, the Teal Zame and View are nice, stylish simples, a good example of burning without burning. No bells and whistles , just good style. The MBER piece on the Freight, is another one.. Nice , simple, stylish, EFFECTIVE.

The reason I think this is worth discussing, is because the bar has been lowered so much in graff these days that wack niggaz are getting props for 1/2 ass work. I was curious to see who these kids were that were so admired, to get an idea of what is passing for DOPE today, and I was right to worry.

Remember kids, good simple style burns a wack burner every time.

Good read by Dash. Im no old school writer, but really enjoy a nice simple style with good letter structure, as said by DASH earlier, like the ones by Teal, Zame, and View2 pulled off. I also enjoyed Oil, and two or three others pieces on the wall. They dont need to make their pieces pretty by hiding their letters with eight to twelve arrows or a thousand montana & belton colors.

The 'Skep' piece for example. He has arrows coming out of nowhere for no reason. The arrows aren't flowing at all with whatever letter structure there is. I also dont see why he made the "E" into two parts?!

Cose has improved, from what I seen from him last year, so he should be on the right track. I feel he should just make the letter instead of having loose parts...well yea, that made no cense but this is what im trying to say...instead of going for....

I feel he should just go with "COSE". So what if it looks plain? Simple is better.

2) A good straight letter DOESN'T beat a WACK (atempt at a) Burner everytime?

3) A young writer, full of energy, commitment, the will to paint, and years worth of a career in graff ahead of him should:
a) Go forward in ignorance of style
B) waste his time doing many wack attempts at burners
c) with all his efforts, still be known and remembered as a TOY

INSTEAD of concentrating his formative years on:
a) First getting his name out by bombing with tags and throw ups
B) Getting his name respected with quality Block Busters and Straight-Letter Pieces

I'm just going to say that I admire graffiti styles like I admire women. There are sooo many styles and flavors, hair colors and body shapes, and I'm attracted to many. I dont just like the so called "perfect" blonde haired 5'-7" wine glass figured women, but I like those unusual unique women, as well. So, Sometimes those different, original, unique pieces just hit me and remind me that there's another way of doing something. I get inspired and realize that originality is still possible, and feel like I'm 12 again looking at something I had never seen before. This is not to say that Cose and Skep did that, or are very original, but is a more general statement about styles and individuality.

OILER Talked about me, nothing new....OIL ROBBED WHO, well ZAME always did all the robbing, and the only peeps he robbed was the BEACH BOYS and the BROWARD BOYS.......

The only interation I had with OIL was once long ago in the HIALEAH PENET, I entered with VEX, I saw them, (a bunch of FS members Painting on the wall) I walked up to them, didn't even talk, just to see who they where, from far I noticed OIL, He had his face covered with a Bandana as I had previously heard, (I HAD NO BEEF WITH THEM AT THE TIME) He came up, said wuzup, asked if he can ride my bike, knowing he couldn't steal it, I lend it to him, he rode around for like 2 minutes and returned it to me, (yes I heard him say years later that he could've stole my bike) but ohh well, at the place and time he didn't....

The only other time I've ever seen OIL, was when they SUPREME(PRE) BLUR KNOW(****) ZAME and I forgot who else was Painting over the CASA MUJICA on 79st near the TRI-RAIL Exit Hialeah..........I noticed them painting, drove up there, and parked 2 feet away from OIL, which was in the floor on the Parking Lot..........They had a TRI-POD filming everything they had done, OIL was not up on the wall but he was with them, few days later I noticed that OIL got up on the rooftop......

So if ya got any other stories other than these, Please PUT THEM UP FOR THE PEOPLE........

Even when we had beef with AIM, we never fronted on the fact that they got up.

I remeber a few things about him from the days.

It pleases me to see that MEK survived the game, kept on bombing, bombed in other cities and then went back to Miami and did it some more.

HOWEVER... (of course you knew there had to be a "however")
as far as OLD SCHOOL, well he might be OG to you new jacks, but MEK only came out in 87-88. he didnt even start getting up till 89-90, with Merlen.
That is hardly OLD SCHOOL when you take into consideration that writers were bombing in Miami by 82 and piecing in 83-84.

And as far as RAW BURNERS, well thats a matter of taste. I think every 1 out of 10 MEK pieces is cool, but I wouldn't say, "Yo, mad raw burners, blah blah blah" As much pieces as he's done, and long as he been writing, and as EASY as thst name is to do, he should be better by now. I do like the fact that it reminds me of old Miami shit, though.

BUT, fuck it... MEK has mad drive, and kept the AIM CREW name alive through the 90's and still today. So for that.. He gets props from me.

OIL & VEX ran a fade outside of the USA FLEA MARKET, Im not sure if it was accross the street in BASS STATION USA or not, but that doesn't matter........ NOW BRING OIL TO THIS SITE TO TELL YOU ALL THE STORY, CAUSE I DON'T BS, First Off, I WASN'T THERE, it was VEX and his Cousin....

So they ran what started off to be a ONE on ONE fade, both swingin bla bla bla, then........ ohh shit, ya tell the story, I don't want to put that info on the message boards, but something happened and OILER started running from VEX, running around through traffic in the streets and arround cars in the parking lot, until ZAME (which was there with OIL and can tell you the story) pushed or did something like that to VEX........

Ohh on top of that, THE COPS CAME, they didn't see ZAME and OIL, but they went up to VEX and asked him what happend, being REAL like he is, HE DID NOT SNITCH, he could've gotten ya ropped off, but he denied everything, even after the COPS pointing at ya saying witnesses said it was them, VEX said, no, everything is alright......

Im a really cool person and flicks arent the world to me, but after having sites take them time after time with no credit given, it gets out of line. So I went for just putting a line through them, but TimeHasCome also does that, so I decided to put my name on them so you can tell the difference. You can also tell I got tired of typing "Mr Graffiti 2" about twenty times, so just went for the line. I know its not attractive but I didnt think it took any major detail at all from the pieces or bombs. If it did, all I can say is im sorry, I tried. :bawling::bawling:
