R.i.P. kid...our CATA crew was as short-lived as your life and believe me, I will be putting up my boy every time I go out... scott was a solid kid and he had a positive attitude about life as well as a clever sense of humor. i'm just thinking about those nights we spent bombing the obscurity of downtown lansing, MI, a barren and listless urban graveyard which served us more with steel than concrete as a medium. to the freights, the inside jokes, the racking and the blackbook/sticker sessions....you will be missed

Up and coming, positive, always wanted me to go paint when I was too fishbrained to get off my lazy ass and get out with him. Kid loved what he did, had skills that were yet to be seen... I'm going to try to get at his parents for his blackbooks so you people can viddy what I'm talking about.. I wish my scanner worked, I've got some outlines from a few years back and even then potential was notable. We started skating together, messing around with writing, I fell off before I could even get up where as this kid stuck with what he started. Determination like Sysphus with free will...I never thought a drunken phone call at 4am asking if I wanted to catch Binary with him would be the last I'd ever hear of him.
Yeah, I'm getting melancholy because shit's fucked up. He made a dumb decision to run from what he did.. but each and every time one of you go out to get up you're making a similar descision and don't front like you'd behave otherwise, this website's had countless forums populated by upper-middle-class suburban kids laying down 'Run if you're spotted, at all costs RUN!'dogma, then the same cats come back and say how ignorant the kid was for doing the exact same thing in a different context. Twirps, kid got desperate and acted desperately.. for a bunch of heads that glorify a culture grown from poverty and 'urban' ethics you all sure sound like a bunch of halfassers to me.. now go hit up your parents for next month's rent and internet access so you can get on a message board and talk shit about a person that's dead now while you glority your favorite celeb writers for doing similar.
Sorry to bring the hate... I want you Cata heads to get at me.. Wafl I dunno if you're around but I've got one of your stickers from the kid from years ago.. hit me up.
By the way, nice flicks.... wish I had more to contribute but an outburst.

I only knew Scott for 5/6 months but I got to know him pretty well in that time...I started chillin with him almost ever weekend, painting frieghts in negative tempatures, drinkin and having fun. He did have a certain honesty, cleverness and wit about him that made him unique among most of the writers I've met. I wish I could have known him longer. He was way to young and had to much to live for. I get depressed every time I look at the gold marker tages he did all over my bedroom on one the last nights we were to hang out.
Scott/Jaunt/Rhubarb/Abe/Faruk RIP
Your friend, Stori

I don't have to much to say but RIP, since we never met. I just remember having a few converstions with Sensi & Irate about his work, and possibly gettin some street action.
The whole thing trips me out cause about a few weeks ago I was gonna get a chance to meet him on the night he Irate, Sensi, and Stori had their mishap but couldn't get a hold of Sensi. After hearing what went down that night I was glad I wasn't there. But after hearing this news last night I was back with those feelings wishing I was out hitting the streets. Not only painting but possibly making a new friend with someone that shared the same interest and love of the art. RIP
i did a memorial peice for scott. it at the yard. i still cant beleive hes gone, he was so funny. it is truly a tragedy that his life was taken. jaunt rip.

Scott you will be forever missed. I remember meeting scott in our typography class at CCS we instantly became good friends talking hip-hop, taking smoke breaks laughing it up. all those times you asked me to go see Binary Star, Mr Lif, etc. i deeply regret turning you down. It pains me to see you go so soon but i can only remember the good times... Drinking 40oz's on my porch in Hamtramck cooking up sausages on the weber! You hitting up the front of our flat and brian getting pissed... never said it much but i really looked up to scott... he always urged me to start writing... wanted me to get "pasta" going; maybe someday ill get that in order... you inspired me to - i just didn't believe in myself... RIP friend *Bob

Well, it still hasnt set in yet. I still think im gonna run in to you down at the yard and joke about this. Its something that i just cant understand, I wish there was something else i could have done or changed..such a tragedy. Scott and I didnt know each other for long, but he was a good friend. The last night i saw him, i took him to geneva's and gave him a taste of the finest hamburgers on the eastside, and we talked about what we wanted to do this summer....he had such big plans. Im gonna miss ya at school man, who am i gonna bum smokes off of? PG FOREVER. You will never be forgotten. Just wish you could be around to see it blow up. SCOTT- REST IN PEACE GOD
Could someone get his flicks back up here and keep them up so that myself, and anyone else who might never heard of JAUNT that stumbles upon this thread can see what the deal is. I thought it was a joke, but yo man, im sad as fuck right now Jaunt! i just found this out by way of internet, a pretty sterile way to learn of a tradgedy like this. You was always mad cool, a little abercrombied out sometimes on the frat tip but we still got along despite our differences, you didnt know me all that well but you never hesitated to scoop me up for painting or drinking. We went to see atmosphere, did graffiti, got bent, and talked shit about other lesser cats together and you dissed my wack/wacky styles in a good natured way. I cant front like I was your best friend, but all the times we kicked it was fun. What the fuck else can I say but RIP IN PEACE JAUNT and I will be reppin for you everywhere I go. I wish I could have kicked it with you a last time before you left this earth man, or at least been able to say good by and get a stamp from you for my book. Yo Is there some way someone can hook me up with some of his black book shit, like a sketch or something just for memories?? let me know. again-RIP

I lost something inside of me the day Scott left all of us...I've kept myself distant from graff lately...maybe I'm trying to forget about the times Scott and I chilled, whether it was at the yard paintin, or up at school sketchin or party hoppin after Irates gigs. Scott taught me how to play this game, and how to play it right. He took me back to basics, he made me build a strong foundation off of straight letters. He would always tell me (in my problems of name-hopping) that it's not how the letters work, it's how you work the letters. He always let me know if someone else was rockin a name harder than me, and was an honest critic (because he knew what he was talking about). Because of Scott my skills increased greatly and more knowledge gained. From Luk to Jest to Sakn to what it is right now- TAUHR it is all do to Scott. For the short amount of time that i knew Scott, it felt like i lost a brother. We had an instant connection, and instant bond...You helped everyone around you paint crisp, bomb hard, and flic more. I know you have been watching me progress, and i know you are proud. -Tony

Scott lived a short life, although it appears he touched the lifes of many. It is rewarding to read the comments of all his friends and see how he lives on. He is missed more than anyone can imagine .... a father should never experience the loss of a son. Now that he is gone there no doubt that he enjoyed the life that he lived. It is rewarding to know that he gave more than he took and left the world a better place than when he arrived. In the end he was the organ donor that his loggin expressed. Because of Scott others can now see through his eyes, feel the presence of his skin and enjoy the strength of his bones. Bless each of you and my you find peace in your lifes. R.
