yeah.. i think its all based around tablets because he refers to using the pen instead of mouse.

I use a tablet, but being left handed i dont use it primarily. theres alot of problems initiating the pen as opposed to the mouse because of this.

I found out more about the dog painting. Turns out the artist is Quentin Massy. He paints various dogs in military outfits and gives them appropriate names. My partner spotted it at the flea market and talked the guy down to selling it to us for $18.

amarna period has always been most enjoyable for me. probably for most others as well.
just so much different than the other egyptian periods.
i think akhenaton was shown this way because he had some sort of birth defect. maybe elephantitis?

He paints these portraits of animals..hes done thousands of these things in various sizes, they're really great the way he uses color and things..they look great in person, this picture doesnt do this justice at all.

Just sucks they are so big they cant go on most walls for a complete viewing ... and I dont think they would show well flat on the floor. Maybe split 1/2 on one wall the other directly across ...

Looking at her set up ... one thing bummed me out ... she didnt ride along with her paint.
I would want to be part of that process ... feeling more connected to my work by getting dizzy as fuck. Thats just me though.

who is that? its fucking great. it reminds me of this period in the 80s when I was little. there was all this sort of "80s re-imagining of 50s pop-art futurism" going on. I wish I could nail down some concrete examples to quote...but it made a big impression on me. it spilled over into advertising as more of a general retro thing, heinz ketchup ads, the "mac tonight" mcdonalds campaign, and the whole 80s miami deco style renos of all the restaurants.

its strange when things trigger memories like that.

Im trying to find this dudes work...Steve Stevanovich. Im going to try and ask him next weekend if he has a site or something. Found out this weekend from other regulars in my restaurant that this guy, who is also a regular with his wife, is a retired artist from out of miami. There are couple of things in the restaurant that are hanging for people to see. Hes done carvings and paintings. Some pretty cool work and I was surprised that it was his work because I thought nothing of it at the time being that I didnt know whos work it was. The carvings look to be more like old battle scenes. Its probably under a different first name because hes mad foreign and I believe "steve" is his american name he goes by.

Oh well I guess Ill keep looking just thought Id contribute something. Other info if someone else feels like digging...he lives near anderson SC, plays at The Cove golf course, wife Judy. I dunno Im just googling random things.
