the kid is just trying to do something in honor of a great writer, someone he perhaps admires and looks up to.
Give him a break, it's not disrespectful. I'm sure If I passed away and some new kids in the game were drawing my name in rememberance and out of respect I'd enjoy it (if somehow I could see it).
