if graffiti scene is a deciding factor in your move i'm not sure how much you'd be into edmonton. there are certain plus's from having a very small scence tho... tons of new spots to hit, some pretty good lay ups, and daytime tagging without people usually bothering you due to graffiti not being a big problem...

real spek, funny stuff. not to take away from anyone but its a popular name and that's that. that curls stuff does look very similar to a different curls im thinking, and some of the demer stuff looks a little similar to someone else too. sweet spot though.

i am really curious as to who this other curls guy is. i realize there are plenty of people in the worlds that have the same name. edmonton seems partcularily bad for it tho considering we have a spek, demer as well as a caps2. in any case i ask for some1 to direct me to pictures of who's demers stuff looks like as well as the other curls. to be honest i really doubt that either of them are biting. demer is known for rocking a multitude of styles. both of these guys are quite important in the edmonton graffiti scene, and while that may not seem big to you guys there 2 people that i know alot of people including myself have/ and continue to look up to. they are guys who have been around for a long time espeically for edmontons scene. when you have new toys that enter it every week, drop a couple hollows and then are gone 3 weeks later, longevity is something that is definitly respected in this city. some of you canadians are probaly familiar with dabs of hw crew, and he got his start in edmonton. curls used to be his writing partner if that helps with how long he has been around. as for demer he has painted with tons of people including if i'm not mistaken trik. he's paid his dues, gotten up in tons of palces, rocked hundreds of peices and i think some one else would have brought up biting if that was the case. anyways this is rambling so i'll finish up with a flick....

big poppa k... sooo dope please please please add more. and if you have time you drop a little history i'm sure all edmonton writers would love to hear it and it would definitly do us jsutice. i grew up on cros spek and dab and plas as being the what i thought some of the 'pioneers' in edmonton. i'm obviously very mistaken. as well as the old lrt wall that effyoo posted, just to give you an idea for sure i rember first seeing that wall when i was 6. thats nine eyars ago! long ass time for a wall to be up. i saw that on my first lrt ride and rode the lrt yesterday and its still running. such a ebautifuul thing. look for more pics tommrow night boys if i'm not to busy. hopefully hook up some new tunnel pics as well as some bombing lined up. till then peace

Ahh Edmonton. Looks like things are picking up there somewhat. Demer has been on point for years. He's probly one of the most slept on writers in canada. I have some fliks of the stuff Veks ast did with plas back in 98 when he was out there but I don't have them scanned and I'd have to dig through all my old fliks. I also have fliks of some stuff dabs and plas did here in 98. But they probly don't belong in an edmonton thread. I dunno, Edmonton reminds me of here, only the scene is even smaller and younger then ours. Enjoy the small scene benifits while they last becasue, well it wont' last. Anyway nice post.

i only lived there for about 8 months but when i was there, all there were was me and a secluded winter. it took me 4 months to find another writer. then i found land, then dabs showed up, land had a couple boys.. then i went home. got into some shit though.. its the wild west out there, fuckin great times... 2 months of it i spent incapacitated because of some chase..

well today may prove to be a bit of a dissapointmnet to those who were hoping for a new and very large update. to make a long story short it simply isn't happening. this week has actually been terrrible in everything graffiti related. stealing, picture taking and even jsut catching tags, there has always been something wrong happen. ahh well enough excuses we'll start it off with a bit of paper today

the last thing i want for this to turn into is a shit talking thread, so i am gonna try and answer a few things quickly and after that hopefully if people actually ahve problems with others deal with it through email or whatever. first of all nutly i think its great your posting pics and i am deifnitly not hating on them or you or whatever. as for vomit he has put in his fair share of work and more. he has been up with a few names and continues to hit shit on a regualr basis. the kid could have style for miles if he wanted to, (and has with other names) but continues to do basic and fun letters. these make him happy and are enjoyed by many people. thats what graffiti is all about. having fun and enjoying yourself.

I work part time at a local radio station, CFWE-FM the Native Perspective, it broadcasts throughout AB mostly on reseves and throughout Canada on Starchoice 852, we should be in Edmonton by this fall. I have my own Saturday Night Hip Hop show called SunDown which showcases Canadian and Native Hip Hop. I go all over AB covering Hip Hop events, 2 weeks ago I went to Saddle Lake, 2 days ago I went to Calgary to cover Step in the Arena which is a DJ/MC/Bboy/Graff comp (they didn't have a graff comp this time and Mode helped me video tape the event while I took pics). Yesterday was Hip Hop For Hunger @ the Manhatten Club which of course I took LOTS of pics and to promote my event. I'm having a Bboy and MC comp called Reality Check. It's gonna have a 5 on 5 bboy comp, Poetry Jam and a Freestyle Session. Lots of cats from Calgary and Saddle lake will be coming even boys from SK might make the trip to break. Foosh might give some giveaways for the crowd and Homegrown said they want a table, you guys do know that Homegrown and BombingScience have teamed up. So they should have graff items for sell. So if you guys want to come and rep Edmonton by all means come down and rep.

tt boy- i to would definitly love to see some of the old dabs and plas and qwit stuff. the biggest problem i think is edmontons scence is very young right now, alot of us jsut got into it and although i rember seeing some dabs stuff and plas when i was younger the real guys that got me interested in graffiti were cros and spek. edmotnon has a tendency to get some dope writers, they stay for a bit then move out, usually to a city with a better scene. its totally understandablyl but it makes it hard for edmonton to really develop as a whole. i don't knbow alot about the other guys but i learned everything i know about graffiti by myself. i never had a mentor, hell i didn't even know one other person that wrote up until last year when i met vomit. things seem to have started picking up these days but its still a very small scnce with very few people putting in quality work. anyways, enough rembling i'll jack some photos off urbanskills later today dor some old dabs plas and qwit stuff but i guarentee they will be the ones everyone else has seen already. if anyones got flicks post up boys.
