I only met the guy a couple times through friends, and he had an insanely energetic and unique personality. true king, truly original style, and one of the writers I saw up the most when I was first starting to learn about graff. I know he will be missed. My condolences to his family and all the graff heads that were close to the man. Rest in Power.

i wanna write something heartfelt and vent a little but i wont, ill save that for the homies. heres a little something about the man for those who didnt know him, maybe youll learn a few things. travis is a crazy son of a bitch, and one of the stongest characters ive ever met in my life, its going to take alot to top that. his life was plagued with problems, and spent alot of his adult life in and out of jail and prison, but he always came out with a positive attitude, and somehow cranked it off even harder than the time before. while on parole with warrents this fool took control of the city in only a few weeks, like nothing could stop him. few years back with help from his crew, they ripped atlanta a couple new assholes, and he had a blast doing it, although i had to drag him to the hospital one night with part of his face hanging off, we drank not even an hour later, and laughed. he lived life fast as fuck, and never seemed to slow down, even though tons of time he should have just completely stopped. back in 97 he was hit by a car while running across the freeway from the cops, knocked him out of his shoes, and the paint in his bag exploded, he flatlined that night, but pulled through with a head full of staples and a cane for awhile. too many funny stories, and just as many that would shock and im not even going to tell on here. but what all it comes down to is trav is extreme, and sometimes i think we cared more about his wellbeing than he did. but i miss him more than i could ever explain in words. and everyone from our crews, and friends of the family stay strong, dont take this shit for granted, people get taken from us far too often anymore. make it count and be carefull, and know your limits, because you dont want to be like homeboy, because as fun and crazy as travis was, you wouldnt have wanted to walk a mile in his shoes.

my condolences to all who knew and loved Bore. Bore and i were only acquaintances, but i know the impact he had on so many people just from documenting and word of mouth. some of the stories i've heard about this guy are unreal. some of the footage i've seen is even more unreal. you just knew this guy was down for crew/fam and could see the size of his heart through his rugged style. i remember painting at the legal wall one morning a couple years ago when him and crew came through to paint. he was the only one to come over to shoot the shit, even gave me a few suggestions. it sucks that our last run-in was a bit less than cordial. BIG-UP BORE...A TRUE SOLDIER!

i never knew the guy but i remember first hearing about him from his boy DETR in hawaii bout a year a go, we were painting in a yard ,well he was actually , i hooked him up with the buff and stood on the side lines when he got a call. i could tell by the look in his face something was wrong and he explained that one of his homies back in atlanta got caught for hitting quick tags that morning he told me it was BORE, at the time i didnt know anything about BORE but after DETR told me the stories including the one told earlier about getting hit by the cars while getting chased i knew BORE mustve been a very real and dedicated member of the scene.

Where do I even begin......... For those who knew Travis Delon Wallender, life will never be quit the same... He was my best friend and brother...... when we met i was going over him and he was going over me.... man Trav allways killed shit from day one!!!!! We were both starting to write and we teamed up togethar not knowing that the next 10 years would bring rocky roads... We allways had eachothers backs, no matter what. And no matter how rough the path we were on was we were allways focused on gettin up. I'm not gonna go into the hardships of Trav's life... Because if there was one thing that Trav new how to do it was to make a bad situation worse and then have a GREAT TIME LAUGHING ABOUT IT!!!!!! He knew how to party and didn't know how to stop... He was a TRUE KING that didn't give a fuck what anybody else thought, he painted what he felt and he acted as he wanted... he went out like a champion catching a blue spray paint BORE tag just seconds before the accident, doing what he loved till the very end. I have so much to say I really can't begin.... I will just keep the rest for Family and Krew......

I havent known travis for too long but we kicked it hard for a minute. I saw him last in Baltimore like 3 or 4 weeks ago hella early in the morning. He came to atlanta from charlotte w/ mack and kicked for a bit and caught a ride w/ me to baltimore on his way to NY. he rode the whole 12 hours in the little ass extended part behind the seats of my ford pickup. no seats or anything, straight curled up on the floor. never muttered a single word of uncomfort. We went to an art show and his ass got us kicked out for being wreckless. dancing around like a maniac, they thought he'd hurt himself and booted us. He stayed w/ me at my house way in the woods w/ this super christian family i live with, if you know travis you know why thats funny. I kick myself because there was a piece scratch paper he tagged on in my room i threw away when i cleaned a few days before he died. We met cause he just called me one day. it was kinda wierd that he just called someone he never knew before. He was like 'this is travis...uhhhh bore..i heard your moving to atlanta' I'll be down that way, lets hang out.' i didnt know then how much of an impact he'd have on me. i reckon i still dont. whatever. too much to say. he wanted me to tattoo 'honor' across his throat.
Anyways travis, you taught me some things.
I'll remember them things.
Ive got nothing but respect for travis and all those he loved. my condolences.

KING OF THE BLOOD TOD

The arrival of Bore hit like a ton of broken anvils wrapped in stolen dynamite.
From his first footsteps in the game in portland to his more recent excursions. He remained true to Himself and to those around him never one to let a homie down he kept the game alive and the grafitti fugitive.
He sought his own style and developed into a unimitable king.
I spoke with him the day of and he had asked some good ideas for big buck items to extricate from the HD. As i attempted to relay the info to travis in cheif blood tod mode he talked of the myriad paint suppliess available in his present location and the express vandalism that was about to incur as a result. After congratulating him and wishing him good luck with the deductions he proceeded to tell me his plans to return soon with ridiculous amounts of paint and the pain staking trial of how to get it on and off the bus. I gratefully volunteered to help him manage his hoard upon his return, and with a few see ya soons and i love you bloods he was gone.
We knew each other a long time and he was true KING and friend till the day he passed. He will always be remembered and loved for the warmth in his heart and immensity of his spirit.

one day my boss said that we have a new worker, i had no idea how my life would change after that point. i worked with him for months. everyday he would find some way to make me and everyone around us laugh so hard that our guts hurt. he would do shit like jack up his pants, push up his hat, throw on some old man shades, and put on a nasty puff jacket in the middle of summer. then proceed to dance around in traffic, next to streetcars, run right up on people and mumble. we called this character mr. serious. i will forever miss this guy. all he wanted was to have as much fun as posible. he had his own set of words, dances, movements, seriously the funniest man alive. he'd give jim carrey a run for his money. i asked him if he knew where i could get some bike parts so i could build a bike and the next thing i knew i had enough parts to make four. he was definitely generous to the people he liked. if he didn't like you, you'd better run.
after we both got fired we kicked it a bunch untill he said he was thinking about leaving. he said he got something on his door from the state and it couldn't be good. leaving the state was a parole violation so he'd be on the run. he asked me for advice so i told him to do what he thought would be the best for him.. with the possibility of going to prison or spending the rest of his life on parole looking over his shoulder, i don't blame him for his decision.
you wil be forever remembered.

I didn't know Travis very well. I talked to him a few times here and there, but nothing too involved. His last prison stay, he and I exchanged letters a few times as well. He was very smart and knew exactly what he wanted from life. Seemed to me that he wasn't suppose to be there.

He was massively talented and incredibly dedicated. The guy just didn't quit. He had all the qualities of a writer that demanded respect.

man, this guy infultrated my life almost 9 years ago. i had to start baby sitting his pilled up and drunk ass while pumping gas, he was almost passed out in the dog house. he told me he was pumped on my graff and kept me going. years would pass and we would fight, i remeber him calling me up and telling me that i wouldnt amount to shit painting with stock tips, haha. next thing you know im riding bikes on all night painting sprees with him wearing an ankle braclet. fuck we even got pulled over in the middle of the ross island bridge by a cop cause he didnt have a light and the cop let us go. fuck. we were so savage together, the dont give a fuck kinda savage. ill never forget visiting this guy on thanksgiving while he was in work release, i was scared as hell theyd take me in to custody, all we did was talk and draw in his sketch book and he showed me his new blood sport and creep tags. while in jail i got letters from him in prison, i admit he was always a little more extreme than me but we walked a close line.

i just read through here and realized i hadn't paid my respects in this thread ever, which i thought i did way back in the begining.

by the time travis passed away i hadn't seen or spoke to him for a while because people get older he moved other places i moved other places and so on.

see travis and i first had static in the begining, not really graff related just clashing ego's but after time i grew to respect him for actually being down, and in portland, especially the graff scene that is far and few between. everyone knows he was down for graff, but i mean he was down for his shit as well and never backed down to me which i liked and in turn respected. luckily we got to know eachother and squash the supposed beef we had with eachother which was actually other people's problems that we took on because we were the only two that were down for shit, point blank.

we ended up partying together for a while usually robbing portland nerd house party's or writing on people's bathrooms stealing beer same ol' bullshit.

travis and i eventually did one of the dumber things iv'e still done to this day in my graff career together, one night after a party that the cops broke up we decided to go do this freeway spot i knew about, so we jumped in my car and on the way to do it he convinced me that instead of the freeway spot we should go to the "hardest spot portland has ever seen" (as he put it) once he told me the spot i thought he was joking but he was dead serious, so we were both close to falldown drunk at that time and figured, fuck it, why not. of course when you are doing the middle of a double decker bridge that goes over the river there is no parking so we parked crazy far away and just walked and kinda ran down the freeway up onto the bridge once i started to realize the spot he was reffering to i was kinda like, wait...where the hell can you see this from???? he assured me oh no you can see it when you go over the blankity blank bridge, and that he has been scoping it forever but never thought anyone was down to do it... so we climb down from the top level of the bridge onto the ledge which was above the the second level fence that was there to keep cars from falling off the edge of the bridge into the river far far below. first off we were way to drunk to be up there because about halfway through we both started throwing up off the ledge into the river below which isnt a good look when you are doing bridge ledges.. none the less we ended up pulling the whole damn thing off (amazingly) and even more amazingly getting back up top and running back down the freeway without gettin caught up. So for just pulling off this ridiculous spot we were mega pumped up thinking "now that's portland infamy"... well that feeling only lasted for us until the next afternoon when i finally woke up and drove over there to see it only to find out that nobody could fuckin see it... the thing is this spot was so just to dumb to do. now if you knew it was there when you were driving on the bottom level you could turn around when the bridge curved and see it but only people that 1 drove and 2 new about it would see it. portland writers especially around that time didnt drive much. so it was kinda a waste, but we had a blast doing it and for that night we thought we really did it. that mission was worth a hundred other bullshit missions and i wish i could laugh it up with him about it right now.

Travis was an AMAZING sign maker he worked harder than everyone and had more pride in his signs than anyone... Everyday I think about when we used to work at Gresham Signs togethar and he taught me all about laying vynil, He was managing his own shop at 18.. We would turn the air purifier on and smoke weed right in the shop... One time his sign shop got broke into at night and we found it the next morning... A couple times in like '94 we just didn't even go to work we got his datsun 310 running and went snowboarding all day and slapped stickers on the back of the lift chairs at timberline lodge and the last time I was there in I saw a couple still running! But usually we would go skate all over town from Rockwood to Downtown catchin tags after work... I'm just startin my day at work and was thinkin about how fortunate I am to have learned what I have from Travis. I fuckin miss you, Lary.

Im glad i brought my camera today, im gonna get a picture of it up asap. Man...any cats around the portland metro area pm me...

Bore is a legend in most circles. I never met or painted with him or even been to his
city. But I heard of him first while painting with a Portland writer back in Iron city around
97. He was throwing up get well Bore and later free Bore saying he was the baddest
writer in Portland. A few years later I met a writer in Denver who told me he was battling
with bore and found him up on a highway billboard going over him. They started
scrappin up on the billboard and before they knew it the cops were closing in. Bore
jumped or fell off from the billboard and somehow didn’t break his legs, got up
and darted across the highway to avoid the cops. A few cars knocked him around and
he ended up handcuffed to a hospital bed. The writer telling me this still gave Bore
his props and said that bore was most up. After hearing this I remembered the get
well and free Bore my boy was writing. True Legendary King Bore R.I.P.
