Was wondering if anyone could give some insight into two color blending ..

I've heard of two different ways to do this but the sources weren't exactly reliable.

Let me know what you find works best or if there is another way I haven't heard.

#1: To fade from color A to B, spray with color A starting IN the color A region, holding the can farther away from the piece as you get more and more into color B.

#2: To fade from color A to B, hold color A's can almost perpendicular to the piece and spray upwards/downwards/whatever into color B.

to do a fade usually you put the darker colour on first, then blend in the lighter colour. I never seen people holding cans in certain ways round to do a fade (as in your diagram).

This is another case of practise makes perfect, as most things in graffiti are.

However the diagrams did rock.

I do both of those methodes.

I use the second one sometimes because by holding the can so the entire lenght of it is close to your wall {not like your diagram} and flicking your wrist in a swooping motion you can get a slightly different effect) .

I think I might be your unreliable source? In which case, I can only repeat whats already been said and suggest you just go and play with paint until you find what works for you.

* also in your first diagram If your trying to fade with the blue, I'de work my way up .. not down.... but its all a bit subjective..

The way I do my blends is-- I get a blue softball - put that on you darker color and blend into the lighter color. Now the other methods work too but the way I do mine is - I will work in small circles starting from the bottom going up into the lighter color while at the same time pulling your can away from the wall. I have been doing that and I get very nice blends.

you need a ny thin german liquitex comfort cap to fade correctly.
you have to stand on 1 leg and tilt your torso at a 90degree angle.
you must also wait until the moon is in line with jupiter.

yea you make sound real easy... the trouble is, you can only get those international ny/german liquitex comfort caps from the manufacturer in taiwan. due to international trade laws they cannot be exported, so if you want them you either gotta go to taiwan or trade a kidney for'em on the black market.
my advice... give up on fades and just floss hollows.

how to fade 101:
put back flush to wall
walk ten paces from wall (beware if you are painting highways or trains, this can be dangerous)
turn and face wall
outstretch arm holding paintcan
position nozzle as so it faces the wall ( do not face nozzle toward face, as this is a rookie mistake, and will caue others to point and laugh)
depress nozzle
slowly walk towards wall
adjust arm position, horizontally, vertically, diagonally, as you get close to the wall. ( dont forget get to keep one eye out for one coming trains or cars)
