I did this as the art work to go along with a mix cd I put together to hand out at a monthly event up here in 20 below Canada. All the photos were taken by me in China, except for the photo of the graff can. I took that picture on my balcony.

Id say im 30% complete!
Im using photoshop and im up to 200 layers right now... (fucking layers)
Ill definatly post it when its done. It might take awhile though because I just started working again (12 hour shifts, 6 days a week).

EuRip, that shit is fucking hot, especially if its being done in Maya. No easy task to convert a concept like that to pure 3d... NURBS?. My Maya skills died long before that level. I was a bit better in Max but still couldn't have pulled that off. Post more if you got it.

Thanks For the post, I have put a lot of time into learning maya, I did these extruding polys. its fresh that you guys are feeling these pieces. its funny a lot of heads hate on the digital graff.... for me it just evolved from graffiti. Just trying to contribute to Graff Cause whether with a can of Montana or a Pc. I will post some new one when I get to my pc machine.

i use macromedia freehand, and no i didnt use real photos its 100 percent off the dome, and yes it take a fuck load of time but i like it for some reason

yeah, that must have taken forever. i asked because i have been wanting to make graphics for an old sierra-style game, and wanted that look, but didn't want to spend 3 years drawing everything by hand. if there was some sort of program that converted actual pictures to good looking 256 color versions it would make things much easier. good shit though.

i drew this in illustrator from a sketch i did. i also painted the peice on a wall too which you can find somewhere in the boston thread. kinda interesting here... instead of doing the illustrator drawing first to get all colors and proportion straight, i painted the peice from the sketch first then drew it in illustrator. you can see the difference between the two.
on the same note i've tried drawing a peice in illustrator first to help tweak color schemes and proportion but i found it to be more work with little or no payoff.
