I've read his book, what is really interesting is that if you believe it he had no formal anatomy studies whatsoever and basically had visions of his entire first series of paintings while on acid. I tend to believe this. One of the paintings not pictured here depicts some sort of strange afterlife that I've actually experienced before while tripping.

Unlike many of the "psychedelic" paintings of seen, his tend to closely mimic many visual effects of LSD and ayahuasca.

alex grey has hosted party's at his house or space ...open invitation type shit....very spiritual person...
his book "the Mission of Art" is an easy read...it can be very insightful and inspiring at times...its good book to read if you question why you have a calling to create...however you may go about it whether its music or wot-evvuh (Ali G accent)
