like the white, white borders seem to let the image go outwards, where as black seems to block it all in.

nice image though. looks like atop view of a person llooking up huggin some big flowers. hard to tell. tres! nice art!

I think the reason you cant get it right smaller is because of the extension of the black boarder. It creates a larger space that is concieved of to comprise the actual piece. So the white boarder is in actuality only as large as the distance from the tip of the extended black boarder out to the edge of the frame itself. Thus the composition works as you have it, comparative to a smaller boarder to image ration if you were to crop the white. Just a thought.

Your border is only what lies outside of the dashed lines, all the other stuff is part of the piece.
It's a relatively small border in all reality.

Thanks a lot for your input everyone.
Looking at it now and taking what you all said about the border, it really
isn't as big as I originally thought it was. Now I like it a lot better. It's

FRAME:
THE EASIEST THING TO DO IS TO , draw a marquee around your entire image. then go to EDIT/ Stroke and choose the pixle thickness you want and click OK.

PATTERNS:::
to make a pattern all you have to do is draw a marque around the pixel area you want to be a pattern then EDIT/ define pattern. then it will be available in the petterns drop down in the paint bucket options

with my suggestion if you jsut rotated the image then drew the marquee and did the pattern youd be in the fast track to making that.

sometimes you gotta play around and make a few different patterns to get it right.

How do you make animated gifs?honestly it was kinda trial and error. i suse tuts from goodtutrioals.com Cant spell today. but u go from phototshop amd image ready for me and make sure the pics u use to animate are linked on omageready. what i did was i took a rim and spiinner and made like 8 layers with the spiner in diifernt spots. plus i used a atut to tell me other parts. when i get home i find the tut an link it for you.

The last 2 are a little too vicious , and on the morge one use a morge tag and put Died of lung cancer or something like that cause a cigarette in his toe I just would'nt really look at it ... and plus it looks like he got shot in the leg and a piece of his leg is hangin off .. nasty lol

safe guys, my pops pointed out the ciggy not being noticeable too.. tried sorting it out but it was tedious business and I'm pretty lazy..
yeah the top2 contradict one another but the projects partly about idea variation, so I didn't think that mattered. Another idea was having a sheepy guy and a wolfy guy, wolf as ciggarette company..?

draw a path around whatever it is you want to put the person behind with the pen tool... convert the path to a selection... and either switch to the layer of the person while keeping the selection active and then hit delete... or (using the same selection but keep the back layer selected) copy and paste the object from the background onto another layer and then put that layer on top of the person.... make sense?

ps... the selection doesnt have to be the whole couch or whatever, just enough to cover your person with a little room to play with, and you really dont have to worry about makin the path perfect except for where you want the overlap..

the other way would be to use a MASK.

the easiest way to do the mask is to place the figuer where you want it in relation to the couch or whatever. then draw a presice selection along the edge of the couch and then continue the selction aorund the figure, if the figure doesnt have a background, the selection can be really general.
Once selected, make sure your figure layer is highlighted, LAYER->MASK->REVEAL SELECTION.
this will hide anything outside the selection, IE the bits that should be behind the couch.

When the MASK is applied your layer gets a new layer ICON added the thumnail of the layer and one representing the MASK. if you click on the mask you can then add/remove areas using the paint brush with white or black, edit the mask.

depending on the image you might also apply some BURN tool to the edge of the figure to add a lil depth, although there are a ton of ways to do that.

FRAME:
THE EASIEST THING TO DO IS TO , draw a marquee around your entire image. then go to EDIT/ Stroke and choose the pixle thickness you want and click OK.

put a stroke on the layer and change it from outside to inside and change the color to black..

Making the "canvas size" larger is what I do.......

its called a vingette. usally its from a lens projecting a circle of light that dims near the edge of the film. one way to do it is to create a new layer, select a large black brush, and then paint it in and reduce opacity, but i wouldnt use that method.

open the file you want to resize. go to: window > actions. in the actions palatte, click the create new action button. name it resize, or whatever. click record. then it records. resize the photo to what you want. click stop. THEN after you do that once, its all easy.

once thats finished go to: file > automate > batch, then in the batch window chose the resize action. chose your source. either a folder or opened files or you can browse. click OK. then it resizes all your files for you.

it looks like a lot of work but you only have to do the first part once. the action will be saved in photoshop and you can use it again and again. i hope that helps.

The first one appears to just be a vignette

The second is a pretty simple effect, I believe it's supposed to mimic Lomo photography or whatever.. You do the vignette, then in the Red and Blue color channels you just boost the contrast

The image is great, but your type treatment is terrible. One of the main focal points of the picture is the sky and you're fucking it all up by throwing shit into it. Simplify.

when you first start using photoshop you tend to use as many strokes, outer glows, drop shadows, inner shadows, bevels and any other effect you can get your hands on as much as possible.... this, however, is not at all what you want to do.... trust me.... less is more, especially when it comes to type.... and your boy should think of a more original name too......

Ballbags is right, and that last one s a good example. Too much bevel and drop shadow for my tastes...

Try to find a typface that can do the work for you, instead of falling in love with treatment that may not work and trying to push it out with layer effects.

And HEZER -- I think I like the composition better w/out the space needle. I'm guessing your boy requested it, but it looks like it's trying a bit too hard to me. The only other thing I would say is try to fram the background image with a bit more symmetry. The tracks create a good lead-in, but would be more affective if they were centered. Huge improvements from version one to version three though.

where can i get photoshop cs2 or cs3? i tried downloading it multiple times from limewire etc. but it always seems to be bugged. i open it up and it just freezes.

oh yea, and it has to be free :D

i got a trial version of photoshop CS2 and i was wondering if any of you guys know of a keygen that works i downloaded it and it came with paradox keygen but the activation codes dont work anymore. so any of you guys know where i could find any working activation cades for CS2???

download them to your desktop

then in PS choose the brush tool.

right click and the brush menu will pop up.

click the arrow near the right side of the menu.

scroll down untill you see load brushes.

and then load them off your desktop.

then make a folder to put them in, but dont delete them.

you may need to re load later so remember where you move them to.

what do you really need PS brushes for? i just make my own.. youll end up making useful brushes that way.. alot of that texture stuff is so specific to a certain rendering technique.. 3% of your time ever using PS to draw should ever include silly special brushes.

The Widespread Pills and Panda had me fucken rolling.

Yo my only suggestion would be to level out the Widespread

and do the panic at the same time. The D ends a bit lower than

the W starts at. It may seam nit picky but yo it's all about the

details. That is what really sets people apart when you get down

to it with the photoshop.

That would make a good party flyer man. You have a bit of room

on the left side to insert text too.

Yo for real party flyers have to be comedy. Who wants to go to some

stuffy serious party. That's not a party.

The Panda would be "This ain't a fucken party!" Then he would kill the

taco and fools would be like is that a panda or a killer whale?

That brings us to panic. Ha!
