before we went out clubbing in philly last night i took some pix of a friend of mine...

http://www.mikepanic.com/photos/albums/randomsingles/abi.jpg

this has been pretty heavily altered in photoshop, aside from the obvious switch to b&w

it was originally a vertical shot i then cropped horizontal and made to 8x10 praportions

the background while not very visable to the left of her face was kinda busy and i wasnt too fond of, so that was removed... most all minor skin blemishes were healed out and used nik sharpening tools

the only other thing i was thinking of doing was painting her lips a soft pink color... and messed around w/ it a bit, but even on very very light opasity i couldnt get it to look the way i wanted too

flash was on a flash frame bracket w/ an omni bounce on it - plz also note that below in "parameters" that is the in-camera adjustments i made before shooting

Not one for photography - maybe you would get a better response if it was posted in the photography thread?

i'm feeling sort of crabby and unfulfilled with life in general, so let go ahead and play the bad guy....

not to be a dick, but are you too good for the photography thread or something? do you honestly feel you deserve a new thread every time you take a picture? if you had some fantastic earth shattering shit, i suppose i could overlook it, but thus far the stuff you've posted has been pretty textbook, amature shit.
take this image for instance...why is this getting its own thread? the girl looks sort of like a witch, her skin is pocked all to hell and there is not a single thing 'interesting' or 'expressive' about the image as a whole. it conveys absolutely no emotion, save for possibly a tad bit of 'fright' and a renewed interest in the importance of exfoliation.
and then you're thinking of adding some pink to her lips? yeah, that might jazz things up a bit. i would have never ever have thought of that one....had i not seen it a hundred thousand times before!

i know i'm going a little overboard here, and it's not really warranted, but neither is this entire thread. if you were just some guy that was like 'yo, i took this picture, what do you think?', i wouldnt have said much, but since you keep portraying yourself in some profesional light, as if you really know your shit, i fear a simple little suggestion might get brushed aside too easily, which is not helping you at all.
you might be a real hot shot around your neck of the woods...your pornstar-esq name might command a whole lot of respect at the local 'java brown coffee beanery', but here on the internet, were everyone is a critic and everyone is a captain, you're a small fish in a big 'oll sea.

interesting responce - and i was unaware that all photogrpahy should go in one thread... seems kinda pointless and hard to track and comment on threads... but if thats the way things are thats the way things are

i dont mind your critique of the photo as much as your responce to me... you are assuming i am a pro and for whatever reason you get the feeling that i am portraying myself this way is kind of off the wall... you are also assuming i dont know my shit... what about photography do you think i do and do not know? if adding the exif data and a lil story about the photo makes me seem that way, so be it... furthemore - if you wish to knock my name, so be it - ic an't help what i was born with...

Ooooh, you went clubbing in philly, I'm soooo impressed.

If you're fishing for comments, why don't you find the photography thread, a photography message board, or even better start your own forum on your own website, mr. i shoot 40 rolls of film a month.

As for the commenting on the photo, expect only a bunch more flames and a CLOSED.
