things i had trouble with, sharp corners being crisp. fading, cops be dickheads and making me stop about 10 mins before its done. (went back to fix it up and it was gone over already so oh well) I think next time i piece i should take a sketch with me, not just "freestyle" it as i go.

knim --that wall ain't half bad man. keep at it. practice in your backyard if the cops hassle you at the legal wall. just grab some wood and roll it. also, learn your rights. find out what's up with the legal wall, you could pull some shit on the cop, and he can't do anything. if it's a "legal" wall, than he can't hassle you. if he is, you can report him, and fight your ticket in court. find out if that wall is seriously legal. i'm not sure who you'd have to ask, but research that shit. go to city hall, call the cops, ask them. find out what the whole deal is, and use that to your advantage. never mouth off to a cop, unless you know you aren't getting out of shit, and you just want to bust his/her balls or tits. playing it cool with the cops, can usually work to your advantage. no matter how much you hate doing it.

ok so i've been told to take away the arrows.. knock off the squigeley things.. which leads me back to letter structure.. i can do letter structure.. i'll post some when i get hooked up with my digi.. thanks for the crits and if anyone one else has some let me hear it.. im going to work on shit.. i'll have some pencil sketches soon.. make some black and whites..

oh yeah and sharpies, it took me a long time to learn how to color with them.. personally i work quick and section by section... and lately i've been using pilot pens to outline..really nice outlines..white outs work well to.. i just started using prismas on stuff.. im starting to feel them..

Freak - I think it could look dope.. it's a good start. But personally I wouldn't have the letters overlap quite as much, and i would have the top two pieces of the K come down farther before they joing together. That's just me. keep it up though.

Yeah, tidy the lines up. Do it in pencil, go over it neatly in pen, and rub the pencil out. And don't contrast it too much in photoshop or w/e - you only need to enhance the edges, not completely segregate them and fuck them up.

The counter in your A is out of proportion, even though you've got the guidelines. If you worked on that, aswell as making sure you use thick and thin bars in the right places, then you'll improve it alot.

joewinmor --your bubble N, looks like an H. drop the connector in the N down a little further. also, if you're going to scan stuff into photoshop and play with it, at least finish filling in the parts that the marker dried up on. if you look at that stuff above, you can see speckles of red and white in the lines. that's because when you changed the color, or filtered it, or whatever, the shit was converted as a negative or something. just go in and sample the color around it, and go over it to clean it up.

war --don't shy away from bubbles. also, drop that T down. it looks like it's floating or something, and that's kind of corny looking. try working on your letter structure, and the balance in the letters as well.

eurf --when you turn your E around, it looks like a B. so it kind of looks like it says BURF. also, why didn't you just do another drawing on another piece of paper? that BURF piece looks like shit. you should have just redone one on a clean sheet, and posted that.

craz E --that wease peice isn't bad, considering the shit you were posting. keep going with simples, and listen to the above post. balance your letters, don't worry about 3D. just do simple block or bubble letters, and if you want to play with color fill, try it out.

zhax --beef up your letters and don't work with 3D until you've got letter structure down. you want some consistency in your letters, unless you're working with some serious funk. get rid of that arrow as well, it's corny. for now, i'd recommend just doing straight letters, and try to keep them all the same size and style. also, work with pencil so you can erase.

Random tip that i find is very helpful for beginners tired of simples and needing to getbetter letter structure to work with- as opposed to using keyboard letter as the base for you letters structure, use tag letters u can download sum decent fonts for free if u look hard enuff. This is because the letter structure actually used in most graffiti is not the genereic stype and stems off of the persons own handwriting. Just find the letter and draw it bigger in outline form then you will start to see how some of the sickest artist come up with their letter styles and maybe form your own. eventually. peace.

fouldini to get consistency i would just draw the letters like they are on your keyboard in caps, no overlapping, no 3d, no extra shit, just draw those, same height width etc, after a good 5 - 10 then try adding 3d to them, id recommend saving the good ones you do from those 5-10 times and putting the 3d on it, to save time, then once you use those up start over without looking at the letters and make it consistent, post up that pic to see the improvement

zhax --definitely just start out with simple block letters. if you're bored with that, look for the inspiration that is all around you. look at the fonts that companies use on their labels. for instance, look at burger king, dunkin donuts, sunoco, tylenol, etc. look at the structure of their letters. some round at the edges, some slant, some connect without connectors. most are simple though, because the consumer needs to be able to read it. look at the candy rack at your local store. check out all the different styles on gum packaging. constantly look at everything around you, and you will eventually grasp some form of inspiration that could help you develop a style.

Best advice i can give to Zhax, is get in touch with some local writers who are sound and trustworthy. In my experience, that - and knowing to start off by drawing simple letters using simple bars, and gradually warping their shape and appearance, is the best way to guarantee your improvement. Post your progress up on here once in a while to get some confidence boosts, and some good varied opinions that you can use to further develop your style.

One thing though, is apart from those basics - no advice is a surefire way to get better. It all depends on your adaptation to different methods; whether it's being told what to improve, whether it's being shown how to improve, or whether it's realising where to improve.
