This is a strange thread to find on 12oz. But since Stella has grown more and more complex over the years it seems like is undeniably a king of wildstyle. sort of strange I guess. He probably even hates graffiti.

frank stella is always one of those artists i forget about or does not often come to mind, although i like his work. alot of people i have talked to(ok so like the 4 or 5 people) do not like his earlier minimal geometric paintings, but i enjoy them alot, and especially with todays design trends, he would seem to me ahead of his time given some of the resemblences. i really like his newer sculptures, like picture 1 and 3. those peices are very interesting to me. high priest, you cover alot of ground with the artists you create threads about, another great thread with an underrated artist in my opinion. thanks

I agree with Stellas ne w gnarly sculptures being dope - but I must admit that I hate his early geometric paintings (although once he got off of that his paintings were allright

...stella was a fuckin genious (...60's-70's)...although i don't know what to think about his work now..the bird paintings from the eighties were pretty crazy weird...but some of the stuff he's been doing as of late i enjoy...
