has anyone else noticed that this newer generation of graffiti kids (i'm new, but i have been around) are all about emo-hardcore shit? They disrespect the hip-hop culture and the graffiti culture and don't know where to stop. i have heard all you Xst8XxxEDGE VEgans talking mad shit on the culture...fuck hip hop, this and that. shit really fuckin annoys me. whether you like it or not MODERN DAY GRAFFITI AS WE KNOW IT CAME FROM THE HIP HOP CULTURE WHICH CAME FROM THE BRONX. get over it. i have nothing but respect for real hardcore kids doing their thing that are respectful. i have alot of freinds who are into that scene as well. juts get off it...quit crying...east some steak and try listening to some real hardcore like AGNOSTIC FRONT, MAD BALL or some SACTO HOODS.
I eat meat and drink, but I listen to more rock music- including hardcore- more than hip hop. But I was wondering... what does musical preference have to do with painting? Just cause someone doesn't wear Triple Five Soul, Yankees fitteds and Air Force 1s with bright red fatlaces in them doesn't make them any less involved in graffiti culture. It just means you won't see them at the next Rocksteady anniversary or in the freestyle battle stage at Scribble jam... If these kids you speak of are complaining about hip hop, it's probably because they don't like it, which doesn't really have anything to do with graff.
Without any disrespect intended, it sounds more like you have a problem with someone in particular. You should've referred to that person rather than making a generalization about dietary lifestyles or musical taste.

Right, I understand that back in graffiti's early days fools used to do headspins and hollowbacks while they did their outer bold, but guess what... when import racing started out it was Asian culture... doesn't mean it still is. Since you apparently live in Sacramento, check your history... When DTV was crushing the shit out of the city you live in (probably several years before you knew what graffiti was) two of them listened to hip hop and the rest of them were punk rockers.
And if you wanna get really technical, cavemen used to write their name on the wall. And cave men listened to the sound of dinosaurs killing each other, not Green Lantern mixtapes or MF Doom.

honestly guys, people have been arguing this point for years: "graffiti is part of hip hop but does hip hop have to be involved in graffiti?"
all i know, (and some of you might remember this) is that when SEEN came to sac state to give a lecture a while back some kid asked him what kind of music he was listening to back in the 70's and 80's and i cant fully remember but im pretty sure he said: i dont know AC/DC and stuff that was on the radio
if someone remembers what he said let me know
"awe.. who put this thing on head games" -carl
Cavemen use to write their names on the wall because they didnt have paper..... and im sure they listened to each other talk too but what does that have to do with music or graf HYPOCRITE!!!
