I've been drawing in figure classes for the last 4 years. I've taken advanaced fig. class 8 times, life drawing 4 times, illustrative figure drawing five times from two different instructors. The teachers are Bob Schultz, Chris Gargan, Mark Nelson, and Christina Sundae. @ MATC MAdison.
Thanks for the feed.
yakid- I really like those! Esspicially the first two protraits! Big UP!
Another......I have a problem putting two scanned halfs together without getting a line through the middle where I then paint the line away which looks shity. Any suggestions on a trick in photoshop to get the line gone without losing the quality of the pencil, or paint marks?
More, first is a rescann, think I figured out the merging, it's all in the original scan and then pasting from furhter in, and sense that only makes sense to me......whatever heres the shit:
I like the clothed drawings better. They seem to have more of a "real"
quality to them...... http://www.davidhollenbach.com/index.html this guy does
really good collage paintings, you should check him out

I want to be more messy! So I'm going to be. Already started with those ink washes. Now times for more! Fuck it, I love my cleanwork, but progression is what it's all about. I decided to drop my degree at MATC as a graphic designer because I don't see a good ending, just working to get into a company working as a comodity for ads for the market place just isn't something I enjoy. So to UW for a BFA sounds better, that way I can teach when I get out. Teaching figure drawing is where it's all at, well, that and other art courses........

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Don't buy into that " at least I can teach" mentalitty. Every person I know who teaches art full time, produces such crap. I think it has something to do with being stuck in an academic setting. But I do see the down side of working for an add company.... the upside is a large paycheck.
Hest---- you like Goya?

i like those washes, nice change from the "contour" type drawings...the wash allows you too feel the figure from the inside out which is how things exist in reality.....if you want try this.. try using black block printing ink on some slick glossy paper(usually the cheap stuff at walgreens works well, the poster board)..first paints the gloss side all black with the block printing ink (speedball)...you can then subtract ink with wet paper towels, and also add black back on. even when the paint is dry you can re wet and work it again...i like working with these material myself
s.urkaleeno-
Well you don't know the teachers I do, and they teach part time and work full time, which is what I'm interested in. I'm not so much interested in the money, just want to pay the bills. If I had the choive to make mad loot working for ad comp, and doing personal work while teaching what I love then there is no contest!
HesT--
RAW! Very organic feeling. I like your varied appraoches!
Dude it looks perfectly fine to me, A lil fuzzy, But really it's just straight up dope! Wish I could get levels of finish like that......
Here another: from a lil ways back.

the cheesy canvasette paper is good for that too...it's better to get a couple going at a time and let the ink dry before working back into it. and india ink is really all you need. unless the other ink is cheaper.
