well one way i start off by doing my letters i start by thinking in my head how big the letters are gunna be then i sketch out a semi simpl then start to bend the bars to wat i like if.now u can say wat can i add to make my letters more complex u kood add sum notches on the corners or simple arrows dont go to crazy make sure ure extensions,hookup,conectors,etc make sense and flow and that ure bars are the consistent height thru out. jus contrubuting to the thread hope this help sum one

AZTEKA-That different styles effect can also go sideways. Think of a blackbook that is full if pieces but each page is torn showing different styles

I kept this piece simple because I wanted to show how I start my pieces. The simple sketch is very similar to the finished product. From the basic sketch I added detail and connections I liked until I was happy.

I was playing around with abstract letters on the bottom. Using blocks to create the general shape of the letter and then filling in the rest. It's a good exercise to find new variations

Another inspiration for me- Comics

A lot of things used in comics can be transferred over to graff. One obvious idea would be the metallic fill. The SILVER SURFER(Julie Bell) is from way back in 93'

I was trying to get some dope 16 bit video game pics but I haven't found anything cool yet. Here is some video game artwork that I thought was cool. The Killzone pic is great because of the glowing orange with a completely white background-Good contrast

Good catch. I practiced calligraphy before I started writing. I practiced a lot but then got bored. It definitely influenced me. I guess graff took over because I could create my own style similar to calligraphy but I had total control over it. I still have several chisel tip markers just for fun.
