I don't know what a lava rock is, but a "Tool Sharpening stone" will scratch into anything, throw it onto a sidewalk to break it into piece's. A hearty "lol" to the 2 faggots above me, don't you homo's have anything better to do?

A lava rock from what i've seen is like a cone with a handle on the end,
the cone is like a file kinda thing has teeth on it

ok, ya i have used those before,

i prefer a sharpening stone though, you can get nice deep cuts into stainless and glass

Just get a sharp stone. I usually just search the parking lot of the building/etc for a rock and it works
if you can get a sharpening stone more power to ya, but I've gotten nice cuts with rocks off the ground
