i dont think there is much to do as far as mounting is concerned to help the tree.
nails and screws, well you can figure that much out.
why not wooden telephone poles, or other upright objects? just a thought. do your thing chickenwing.

One suggestion I would make is to use your own material (wood or whatever) to paint on, ie not a sign you grabbed from somewhere else. Using a proper street sign as a base doesn't really help out the look of the things, and gives John Law something to disagree with.... but whatever, do your thing as long as you don't get in my way with it.

Sonik3000
actually its funny you mentioned that seeing as we gave up on metal a weekago....we have been banging out quite a few with woood and they look just as good in my opinion......thanks for the advice sonik

hahahahaha!!!!! yeah it's all good. and i agree with sonik on the whole wood versus metal street sign thing. the metal ones just make me think of conformity or something... i dunno. i like em all!

grim-whats your e-mail?
that last sign looks like its asking to be karate kicked off that pole. and the one above it looks like cardboard. everyone who is thinking about affixing signs or objects into our public spaces should really look to revs for inspiration in keeping it permanent if thats important to you. I don't want to misquote Sonik, but I seem to remember him explaining that he doesn't use any epoxy or bend the bolts when affixing signs because if someone wants his signs down they will get them down, and he would prefer regular people would take them and enjoy them as opposed to the city breaking them off and throwing them away. of course sonik creates hundreds of signs and is dilligent about them...unlike most people, who get tired of signs quickly and leave a legacy of 2 or 3 half-assed embarraments hanging off sign poles for everyone to laugh at.maybe sonik could correct me on that if i'm wrong.
peace to all the artfags
