i agree preserve the thread in the archives. it's interesting to look at it and see what people were thinking at the time. i was living in japan at the time and it was like 10:30 at night when i heard the news. so that means it was about 9:30am in new york, which was around the time the pentagon got hit. i was in an internet center too checking e-mail. i just remember some guy saying that a plane hit the world trade center. the news websites were hard as fuck to get on. i was getting little snippets of updates. then everyone left the internet center and went to another room where they had flatscreen tv's on the wall. i just remember seeing lower manhattan engulfed in smoke, and they replayed the towers falling, and the planes hitting. everybody at the base stayed up throughout the morning glued to the news.

i was sleeping here in hawaii. my mom woke me up crying saying that something bad had happened. man, i was still in high school back then. i remember i used to like this chick and it was her birthday. my math teacher's sister was working at the pentagon that day, but she wasn't hurt. my teacher was so sad all day until her sister gave her a call to let her know that she was ok. i don't think i would have been able to handle that shit if i was in NY that day. very heavy.

yet another day that will live in infamy.
