i think it depends on the store and employees because some places sell paint to kids around here and some dont.
as far as buying paint goes: some stores card, some stores don't i've found its how you dress and look, not how old you look. when i was punk fucking rock and i would walk in w/ shredded bondage gear a 6" chicken hawk, they would card me no matter what. i got out of punk, lost the hawk and raggy clothes. now i walk in wearing a generally clean t shirt and some dickies, and they just run me right through.

Would it not be a bad idea to take a tape recorder with me everytime I go out? That way I could turn it on before the pig stops and possibly searches me. If he fucks up, would it be admissible in court?

^^^if i was an 8 year old toy i would paint at ten o'clock too...right after supper, right before bedtime...but for everyone else i would think they should have the common sense to paint much later than that and to be absolutely sure not to be seen by anyone...everyone has a damn cell phone and thinks they're the frickin police nowadays...damn citizens...i bet they all cheat on their taxes...
what to do if your stuck in my situation. I was painting this board in my backyard, and my mom knows that I do graf, i have been doing it for 6 years, and she doesnt care, but i got some paint on the concrete and she goes fukin apeshit, so she calls cops and they get me for criminal mischief. but the cop never seen or heard the name i write.

...your mom called the cops on you because you got paint on the concrete?...that is fucked up...and i don't understand how you got charged with criminal mischief if you were painting a board in your backyard...it's not illegal to use a can of paint to make a picture if you own the property you're painting it on...and yes you are damn lucky the cop didn't know who you were...but if you have been writing for six years and cops in your home town don't know your name, you must not get up much.
its not that im not up, he didnt see the board cuz i hurried and broke it and threw it in the field behind my house. so i dont know when i go to court if they are going to try and find out my name or not. my moms just dumb and she got all bent that there was spray paint on the cement. she keeps asking were all my blackbooks and photo albums are so that she can turn them in and i just tell her that i lost them. my mom keeps telling the cops that i go paint all over town and shit but the cop didnt really care about that all was concerned was charging me with criminal mischief in my own fuking house...

...whatever you do don't admit the name that you write in court...that would be the stupidest thing you could ever do...if they ask you what you write tell them you were just wrriting your name, like your first name, or your girlfriends name...i would even go as far as to do a board with that name...and do it really shitty...use half cologged stock caps...make that shit look toy as hell...that way they won't give a fuck about what you write and try to talk your mom into dropping the charge...and if she won't you need to move out the house...

Another important thing to remember is that it is not against the law to carry paint around...it is only against the law to use that paint illegally...so unless they SEE you doing something you're usually ok.
in chicago its illegal to carry paint around city streets at alll sucks i walked out of an alley after a newly done legal and they asked if i had paint in the bag i told them no at frist i didnt want them to take my paint and give me a fine so naturally i said no they told me it was illegal to carry paint around the city streets so i explained how i jsut finished doin a legal wall and i pointed to it and itold them thye could ask the owners of the place if they wanted i didnt have ap ermit htoughjust the owners permission i wish i did so i could have stuffed it i nthe pigs face but anyways he asked where i lived and i gave him a fake address and they went around to make sure i was headin in the direction of the address i gave em................i believe it became a felony here if you get caught tagging nowadays.....

exactly plenty of the guys i have gone out with are fuckin stupid they think just because someone spots them and they are not a cop they wont say shit i got chased once cause this gay fuck didnt keep the lookout he was supposed to the guy saw us told us not to run but i was sure as hell not gonna stay there....... be paranoid DONT get confident because as soon as you get confident and stop worrying......your ass will be caught......
most cops dont give a fuck and are corrupt anyway and you could incriminate yourself if you dont let them search your bag then they are gonna think you have something you arent......we all know all cops dont go by the book...
i was wondering if the penalty for putting up stickers is the same for painting etc......say if you are putting up a sticker a cop cathes you an dyou have other stuff on you apint markers also
i know of someone that was caught putting up stickers and they were charged with graffiti (they weren't even graff stickers, just band stickers) but in court the judge went easy on them and explained the problems with graff adn such and just gave him warning...i would think that in most places if you put up stickers with your name on it it would carry the same penalty as putting up tags...
...it seems more and more places are making it a felony to do anykind of graffiti...that's pretty fucked up if you ask me, i can understand them making it a felony after say $1000 of damage but from doing one tag is ridiculous...it's odd because i could go around throwing bricks through windows and it would be misdemenor vandalism but if i write my name on something it's a felony...

yah thats very true sect-me and my friend was walking up a main road at like three in the morning, to the back of this building that is seen from the freeway and on the way their we were just bombing signs and electrical boxes and my friend hit one and there was this dude on his front porch creeping in the dark smoking a cigarette and he said "what the fuk are u kids doin" so we bailed and he ran after us but he was to fat and slow. later on there was like 3 cop cars swarming the area but we krept bak home a different way.

cops are really bad, they called me up 5 years ago and told me they needed to talk to me about graffiti, mind you i was still a minor and they said i didn't need to tell my parents or anything.
i agreed and was kind of scared because of this diesle yard i bombed, we totally wrecked shop and created over $50,000 worth of damage and said they had fingerprints of one of the guys i was with and he dimed me out.
he did dime me out i saw the statement he wrote, is wasn't a formal arrest when i got there, i denied everything, but i got a summons to go to court.
when i went to court, the judge dismissed my case and said he had no jurisdiction over me and the other two guys got in trouble but the dude who ratted got the worst punishment since the other kid was only 15 and had his case handled in juivenille.
needless to say, the guy caught a bad one from my boots and the stick in my hand, and by the law afterwards...

one factor that does influence the results of being stopped is age, at least in my area.. if you are under 18 then most likely you wont be going home anytime soon, because of the bullshit of parents, etc. that goes with being a minor, this has not only happened with graffiti but also with parties that have been busted, anyone over 18 had there info taken and was released, but the minors had to be escorted home by a parent..this is in response to the post saying not to carry an ID, just remember it can both help and hurt you, and lying never hurt either.
