concrete ties are used on high speed/high traffic/high weight lines to reduce the frequency with which they have to be replaced. Most long drag, heavy tonnage coal lines are all concrete tied. Its just too expensive to use anywhere where its not absolutely neccesary. UP Country!

i have seen alot of old wood ties being replaced with new concrete ones.It's funny just seeing stacks of old wood ties lying around the freight yards..

yes those are all my original flicks... why? i captured them all from digital footage i took while visiting the bailey yard in north platte, ne. anyquestions, let me know. all the graff i caught then will be in my video i am slowly making and is already on the fucking freights site run by my friend.
also the car was a rental, 2001 ford ranger, white with an extended cab. 200 bucks for 4 days. pretty cheap considereing they had a almost 10 dollars extra a day or so because we were under 25.
