NovYork can’t make up his mind
he’s a graffiti writer, he’s a writer of books
sometimes he writes a book and graffiti advertises it
sometimes he don’t
almond joys got nuts, mounds don’t
Nov has a new book but he aint advertising it.
I will though
The book has nothing to do with graffiti
it’s postfeminist fiction
Alcohol Makes you Invincible

for $14 in BROOKLYN only.
Good food that is better for you and the environment all combined with street cred is what all food posts should be about, when I got introduced to Alan by my good friend Grotesk a couple years back my pitch to differentiate potential blog post to him was that I would combine graffiti and food. Almost as soon as I got the blog green light from the 12OZ team I got into some heavy changes in my diet as I took time to educate myself on the subject. The reason behind not posting about these changes holds in two folds: first I would have been competing against billboard adds on the website from very big food corps and second I didn’t want to lecture you, the reader.
Recently I came across the best food blog I wish I had done, called THUG KITCHEN. The super laid back approach to a vegetarian diet combined with offensive language (did I hear you say ghostface?) makes it best of all worlds: hillarious, good for you and offensive.
Eat like you give a fuck !
Second drop for Woolf Originals New York on jackthreads
This time I’m bringing bright colors, paisley print, a lot of hawaîan fabrics and of course a killer sand camo. The collection is much bigger with over fourty pieces and you will find some chinos and short chinos with a cuff, our great button down shirts, jackets, a lot of light wear like pocket tanks, pocket tees, five pannels and accessories. The sale will be up for a couple days, go get it while it’s still in stock.

That post felt thru the cracks, so I’m a little late on it but I’m very please to introduce you to my Sound Advice on The Worlds Best Ever. The idea of Sound Advice, if you don’t know it, is to broadcast a mix done by creative people that are not necessarily dj’s. I think it is a very intimate way to discover someone’s taste in what surrounds them on a daily basis: music. Since you’re getting the best taste in a musical genre that might not be yours all the time, you’re sure to get bangers and discover great music.
To top it all off the selection of artist is off the hook and I’m stoked to be sitting next: Scott Campbell, Ian Francis, Jerry Hsu, fellow blogger and friend Handselecta, good friend Alessandro Simonetti or the likes of Ed Templeton just to name a few… seriously the list could go on for hours since they have over 170 mixes available for download !
Thanks to everyone that came out the night of the opening, we had a blast.
The show is on vue for the rest of the week at Stanton and Suffolk, we will be hosting a closing party sunday from 5 to 9pm so come by if you missed the opening.
Here’s Klughaus website and there’s nice pictures of the opening on the Croby Press as well.
Klughaus, in collaboration with LRG and Brisk, is excited to announce PALINGENESIS, a special pop-up exhibit in New York City’s Lower East Side featuring Gorey and Paris’ prolific PAL (Peace and Love) Crew. The group exhibition features a roster of internationally-renowned artists including GOREY, HORFE, CONY, TOMEK, SAEYO, MOSA, ESSO and SKUB.
One of the most prominent graffiti crews in Paris, PAL is united by its members’ shared love of creative expression. With GOREY as a forefather, PAL has developed a unique movement and style of graffiti that is completely its own. While there is a complicated, yet fascinating line between graffiti and fine art, the collective has made a seamless transition into the art world in a tasteful way that does not categorize the work as simply “graffiti,” yet sustains the collective’s distinct styles and energy within a gallery setting.
The PALINGENESIS exhibition will showcase the collective’s debut in the United States as well as its artistic re-birth as evolving fine artists. Gorey & PAL’s incorporation of fine art elements into their work on the streets is pushing the concept of graffiti in a new and refreshing direction and we are thrilled to collaborate on their stateside debut.
The exhibit will be on display through May 19, 2013, you can jump on vimeo to see a great video here:

Feeling pretty nostalgic over this post as “A Bizarre Ride” was released over twenty years ago ! The Pharcyde to me was the real sound of NYC, embodying the fun, positive and no bullshit hip hop that I was listening on rotation as a teenager. The bright side of this anniversary, and getting old I guess, is that a lot of DJs today are broadcasting gems left and right. Today I present you a ill combo of 12 Pharcyde remixes and rarities never heard before, made by Jimmy Plates from Southern Hospitality, via The World’s Best Ever.
