ABOUT 12ozPROPHET

Founded in 1993, 12ozProphet had the goal of raising the bar for the graffiti world and integrating its distinctiveness into the wider world of street culture and design. Though there were graffiti magazines before it, 12ozProphet presented the mayhem with an elegance and attention to detail never before seen, packaging top-notch graffiti, innovative design, exceptional printing, and intelligent, thought provoking text. After 12ozProphet, graffiti magazines suddenly had to appeal to a wider world of culture whose interest it had piqued. Graffiti was all of a sudden relevant.

The current generation of urban arbiters of cool grew up on 12ozProphet Magazine, and younger generations enter into the fold. After the demise of the printed magazine, 12ozProphet's focus was shifted towards cultivating an online community by way of the official website. As a way to house this community and create a responsive and built-in audience, in 1999 12ozProphet launched The Writers’ Forum, an online hub with an enormous reach and scope. Many years later, 12ozProphet's presence online has grown to seamlessly run the gammut of relevant styles and trends in youth culture, while traffic to the site continues to grow exponentially into millions of page views per month.
