Tag Collection

This article was posted by Alan Ket 1 Year, 6 months, 1 week, 3 days, 1 hour, 14 minutes ago.

Three years ago I began collecting signatures/tags from writers that I would meet in an effort to document and preserve the styles and names of writers both past and present. This idea came out of my love for seeing tags growing up on trains and because year after year writers have been passing away with very little documentation of their style. As the years pass hand styles come and go and some disappear from use forever. As New York City becomes more and more intolerant of writers and writing the names continue to disappear from the walls and even the tunnels. So far I have collected a few hundred. Special thanks to KRINK and On The Run who supplied the markers and ink. Here are a few….
