How much does anyone know??????
I’m close to the N.O.
Are you guys kidding me?! Nike are a joke of a company who spend all their time exploiting their workers and selling trainers to people for hundreds times the amount the 3rd world workers got paid. Then they tell everyone they’re the coolest ‘brand’ in the world by paying graphotism to do some shitty commission and getting breakdancers to star in their adverts, all so they can sell your culture back to you. For fucks sake, this is a graffiti site endorsing a company who didn’t give two shits about graffiti until it became profitable and now have jumped on the band wagon so much that graffiti and a sports company are seen as synonymous.
Open your fucking eyes and burst this bubble of consumption you’re floating away in!
ember that graffiti and all other counter-cultural movements are about personal expression and changing the system, not about which brand of fucking trainers you do it in!
Get a fucking grip of reality!
dont be such a whinney bitch. Who gives a fuck how the shoes are made or who makes them as long as they look good and a reasonable price then its all good. why dont you get a fucking life.
I second that. The blue joints are fresh to def. Nice photographer too
To stoopnik:
I’m curious what your basing your opinion on? Show me an example of where Nike is ‘selling our culture back to us’. What I see is a big company obsessed with sports and producing the best sport related product possible steadily being consumed by more then just athletes. Kids have been rocking AF1’s for over two decades because they dig what Nike does, not because Nike is in the hood exploiting the culture. Somehow, it’s probably correct to assume that if legends within our culture - dudes like Futura, Stash, Todd James aka Reas, and others - are doing collaborative joints with Nike time and time again, then you can be pretty sure that dudes are into what Nike is about, or at the very least, what Nike is willing to pay them for their contributions. Either way, it sits on the opposite end of things as ‘exploitation’.
Further, if you had any sense of economics you’d know that the different economies support different rate of pay. That’s why if you work at K-Mart in NYC, you generally make a good bit more then the dudes working at K-Mart in Iowa. It’s also why a factory worker in China makes less then factory workers in the USA and also why the factory workers in the USA generally make less then the ones in working in Japan. Dumbass…
word get your facts straight before youtalk that shit. go suck micheals moores penis,
Me, I like myself a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors. For 40 bucks them shits are tight. All you jokers following the sneaker trend are robots. I spend my dough on hoes and blow!
were can i find them at???????????????????
The dunk does not have the stingray leather it in fact has the patent leather, and dropped today.
Dope kicks tho!!!
Come on guys, hands up! How many of you guys work for Nike’s PR department!?
I hear what you’re saying..I’m well aware that AF1s have been around for time, isn’t Seen wearing them in Style Wars? The same is true with Adidas Superstars; Run DMC made them famous and engrained them in the style of hip-hop, but just because some of the first generation writers are doing collaborations doesn’t make it ok, it just means they’ve sold out. Yeah they might be paying writers for their work but that doesn’t mean its ok. It means the writer needs the cash and so are willing to let Nike buy into a culture that they know will reap them massive returns.
No matter what you say, graffiti is not about Nike or Adidas, it is about writing, writers, art and expression. Its about fucking over the transit company who fuck you over, its about rejecting the prefabricated bullshit that counts for contemporary culture and society, doing it your own way and taking no prisoners. Where exactly does a company who readily admits they only invest where there are huge returns waiting for them (http://www.nikebiz.com/company_overview/subsidiaries/index.html) fit in to this? A transnational corporation who revels in exploitative free-market economics while employing serious psychoanalytical branding and marketing methods is hardly part of the ideals of graffiti. Please don’t use lame-ass economic theory to justify your position!
Over the years they have simply persuaded you that they are interested in the same things you are. That is true, of course they are interested in the same things as you. Just so long as them being interested in it makes you give them lots of money.
P.S. You can buy Converse all you like, but they’re owned by Nike too. We all have different attitudes to what we wear on our feet and what the shoe says about us. Its an identity issue created by decades of advertising and branding. Each type of shoe pretends to have a different meaning, Nike just own most of the different meanings across different brands of shoe. No matter what your shoe says about you, its more than likely gonna be a Nike shoe, and what does that say about you?
Yes man, Stoopnik needs to calm down.
All of that 3rd world people working shit is probably real, but its no like Nike whips them or something related to that. Also Its one of the few jobs that exist in asia [or where ever these factories are]. Probably all of this crap is made up!
Plus, many writers have I guess been involved in some Nike event, such as Desa. Oh and writers from 123KLAN and even Mare 139 in the KRINK OPEN CITY video wear this brand.. just to name a few. Tons of runners, hypebeast, basket ball players, soccer players, skaters, skiiers, gangsters, geeks, ritch, poor, ghetto people [ect] wear Nike.
Stoopnik- plaese don’t hate.
BTW, how cool would it be to know what Nike would come out next?
Allen, you’re one lucky man. And, I’m looking forward to purchasing those dunks.
Open your eyes and burst this bubble of consumption you’re floating away in! Remember that graffiti and all other counter-cultural movements are about personal expression and changing the system, not about which brand of trainers you do it in!
My husband Bill lunches with Phil Knight, bitches.

the blue and blacks are a fresh ass colorway!!
