Tarik Saleh has, together with Erik Gandini, directed several award-winning documentaries including GITMO – New Rules of War (2005), best documentary at the Seattle Film Festival and Special Grand Jury Mention at Miami Film Festival, and Sacrificio – Who betrayed Che Guevara? (2001), first prize in International Film Festivals in Cuba, Portugal, Brazil and raising debate all over Europe and Latin America.
He is one of the original founders of Atmo, and formed Atmo Animation which has gone on to write and produce over 30 short animation films. His artistic talent came form his earlier carrier as a Graffiti Artist being part of the internationally acclaimed All In One crew. His murals can still be spotted in suburbs west of Stockholm. He has gone on to write and produce two television drama series for television (A Different Class and Dream Team), started the legendary Swedish magazine ATLAS and served as art director for the Egyptian documentary magazine ALIVE.
Story
Metropia takes place in a not-so-distant future. The world is running out of oil and the underground train systems have been connected into a gigantic subway network beneath Europe. Whenever Roger from Stockholm enters this system he hears a stranger’s voice in his head. He looks to the mysterious Nina to help him escape the disturbing web of the Metro, but the further they travel, the deeper he’s involved in a dark conspiracy.
