yeah, art directors and city officials front like they have “new” and “innovative” ideas when rolling out shit like this. Meanwhile the art directors are just biters. I felt the same way when they proposed the idea here in New York but it didn’t go down. Instead they have the Arts for Transit program that installs art in train stations by random artists but don’t include writers. Again, writer’s ideas are co-opted by the establishment but writers are not included in it. Then they try and flip it and say that you can get down if you fill out paperwork but who wants to deal with city agencies or a government that regularly shits on artists and the poor? A shitty catch 22.
