Fast and Furious; L.A. weekend

Out in L.A. to close down the show. Saw the new ‘Fast and Furious’ movie on Friday, it sucked but it was pretty rad too. Full disclosure: I’ve seen ‘em all, and I’ve seen ‘em all on opening night. I like cars and I like bad movies sometimes. To honor the car culture, here’s some flicks of cars I spotted out this weekend:

Insane rims. Inset photo lightened to show rim detail. Dude had his whip TIGHT.

Mercedes CL series. I’m a fan.
I love this sort of thing: Town car totally icy. Somehow so ill.
As seen on the 110: ‘Hot Wheels’ style.

Barely caught this lime muscle.
The sleeper. Reminds me a little of Phantasm, even though that was actually a Hemi ‘Cuda. Mind the ‘angry determined duck’ hood ornament.
Saw a pair of these running up the 5, the other one black, with the rear fenders intact. Eh, I prefer the open look. The entire under-carriage was gloss-tangerine. So sick. Speaking of ‘tangerine,’ and ‘kar kulture’ in general, why isn’t Tom Wolfe’s The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby available on the Kindle yet? I never finished reading it and I don’t know where my paperback is. Work with us out here, Amazon, the holes are eye-roll inducing.
