This article shows there are major security issues concerning the NYC transit system. Transit and the daily news both have their priorities mixed up. This article should speak of how lax transit security is, when graffiti writers are painting trains on a regular basis.
Instead of “The Eagle Squad” patrolling for graffiti writers, they should be concerned with terroristas bombing the system. We all either take the train or have loved ones that do. It’s really pathetic. Your tax dollars hard at work.
in germany it is nearly the same.
sad and stupid movement....
Why doesn’t anyone talk about the MTA’s ‘graffiti’? A couple of weeks ago I was waiting for a train late at night, the wait for the 6 train can be long. All I had to look at was the support posts, and they all had numbers on them [38,40,44,ect.] and they looked like a toy on his or her first day holding a spray can.Why can they do this with no concern for the riding public.Show some style,or get a stencil,or hire a sign painter. The MTA workers are paid well,so a professional sign painter is within their budget. If the MTA wants to stop graffiti, they should start with their own.Why is it OK for their ugly scrawl, but a well designed tag is not.The MTA should not be allowed to arrest anyone for something they do as a normal part of business. This is not a country where there is a class system,so they shouldn’t be allowed to do something others are arrested for.
Sometimes I think the war on graffiti is just a war on anything that detracts from their selling space for advertisers.I pay taxes, but I have no say as to what is staring at me while I wait for a train. Many of these companies are unethical, and some are criminal. Most find ways to not pay their share of taxes. That means more taxes for honest hard working Americans. The same week as the fare hike was announced my closest train station added 12 advertising spots.I would rather look at the white tiles that the riders paid to have installed a couple of years ago.Why did the riders have to pay for the tiles to be installed if a couple of years later an advertising spot was going to be put there.I would prefer for the station to be returned to it’s old glory. The station was designed to be beautiful, but the MTA found out a long time ago,if they made the stations ugly there would be less complaints when they covered them in advertising. If they could make the stations beautiful 100 years ago,why not now?
Here is a teeny little gift to those interested.....
VS has been sleeping inside the trains in the Brooklyn IRT layup tunnels like Utica,Eastern Parkway, Etc. They are even checking MTA track workers ID’s. If anybody knows any that are interested in clean trains, most likely from across the pond, pass this little tidbit along because it is certainly valid and 100% accurate as of just last week 12/07.
Happy New Year Ya’ll!!
Up until earlier this year the American Eagle was on the “Endangered and Threatened Wildlife” list. They were delisted back in June 2007.
Zero arrests does not sound productive. With no prey the eagle may soon be back on that list.
Thanks for the tip BAP
Yeah thats a smart move, these ‘smart, highly trained, looking to do what is right’ people can now get into teams at night and stop people putting a bit of colour on trains.
Even though if they walked a few blocks down theyd find themselves being a bit more helpful stopping someone getting bashed, knifed, raped or god knows what.
Yeah, they’re reallll smart aye?
...
hope they hit the treadmills because imma have my nikes on.
well this might keep the toys out but for the real hard core train writers its just another challenge thanks for the warning bap
Haha, that MTA vest actually does not fit on big boy up the top there.
The point KSPADE made is a very valid one and I couldn’t agree more. However, I think after looking at the photos it’s easy to see that the people getting paid to do this are probably not all that the media makes them out to be. I’d say the blokes are on that job because they aren’t capable of much else. Makes you wonder why they are “former’ and “ex” Sgt and Detective and so on. They probably got too fat and lazy, got made redundant and/or got caught doing some corrupt biz.
this is sum ol bullshit man! ny is not disney land. theyr fukkin w the natural order of things. we tag they chase not wait in a tunnel w m16 all to catch sum high school kids tryin to paint sum walls. thats wat its commin to. vandal squad needs to chilll w this shit man its not that serious.

It’s more like the fat pigs have landed. Not one arrest in months equals no suprise looking at how large these pigs are in the photos. This whole article reaks of propaganda. They can’t stop the trains from getting hit so they attempt to release news articles to try intimidate fear upon writers. The realistic side is their are prorbably a helluva alot less pigs watching for writers then before. So dont believe the hype!
