I gotta cop that SOCKMONKEY joint…
I picked up at copy over the weekend. Absolutely AMAZING. Congrats
Got my hands on a copy. When you open the book it’s like going back in time. The pages aren’t glossy so it looks like an original piece in a blackbook like back in the days.
what are your thoughts on inner city youth racking this book?
Now..I’m extremely hyped to see this book on the stands! Knowing full well that this was born out of contacts with people for a previous book called “Mascots & Mugs: The Characters and Cartoons of Subway Graffiti”. Not to mention my well-traveled, personal Blackbooks from the 80s. This book completes the fifth point of the 5 - [AllStar] book documentation of a New York City origin of Graffiti. The other points are ‘Subway Art’; Spray Can Art; ‘Mascots & Mugs’ and Getting Up’. All a must for understanding what we and the ones before us did. One could argue that the Dondi book and a yet unpublished book about tags in NYC could add more dimensions to the star. But ‘Piecebook’ and the other focus on a particular subject of Graff. Well done CACru.. CHINO & SACHA!
