This is second of several entries being posted by Allen AKA according to a request Bernie had made before he passed away. Bernie was still trying to get used to the idea of blogging and though he was a master of not going unnoticed in real life, he was still struggling with the idea of how best to accomplish the same feat online via his blog. For that reason, he’d been sending me photos and asking me for suggestions on what to talk about or how best to articulate what he wanted to say, as well as get feedback on what shots to show off. The shot below was supposed to accompany several other shots showing some of his recent tattoo work which is why it hadn’t been posted yet. Bernie was really proud of the tattoo work he’d been doing and had really started coming into his own with it over this last year. Unfortunately, Bernie never got around to sending me the additional images before he died, but some of his stuff can be seen in the Rest In Power… CRUDE OIL.. thread on the forums and elsewhere online.

The shot below shows his tattoo gun and power supply featuring an Alife sticker that had been originally included with Also Known As v1.5 which he had contributed a lot of handstyles to, including the art used on its cover. Bernie was a big fan of all things NYC, especially its graffiti styles and scene, which he also played a role in via his crews IBM and COD. He was also a fan of Alife, especially knowing Earsnot was part of their crew, which was someone he was also friends with and one of a handful of people whose hand he really looked up to.

This is being posted by Allen AKA according to a request Bernie had made to me before he passed away. The email below came shortly after another email with the details for his IZ THE WIZ post. Since he never got around to sending me the text for this entry, the post never went up back around the time when Sacer past away. For those that didn’t know they were both great friends, and Bernie was really torn up to learn of his passing and had been struggling trying to find the right words for the post that was supposed to go up with the photo of the Sacer memorial tattoo below. It’s tragic that fate would have Bernie’s life under a month after it took Dash’s. I’d like to think that the two of them are having good times wrecking the status quo in another life.
