Not long ago the good people at gravis sent me some samples of a luggage collection that I contributed to. The lining pattern is based upon passports and passport stamps. After some recent voyaging I’m happy to report the bag held up well overseas where I grabbed this sweet looking visa stamp. More on this soon.

I made a cuckoo clock you can buy. And by ‘made’ I mean I drew it up. The good people at Furni in Montreal actually did the making and it’s much better for that fact. This is the first in a series of clocks curated by the unstoppable B.Solomon of Kitsune Noir . Thank you, Bobby ! Thank you, Mike ! completely worth the wait.
More information from the Furni site “Neverend is a series of clocks created in conjunction with a select group of incredibly talented artists and designers. Each piece features artwork that is laser-etched onto a 3/8” thick piece of high quality russian birch plywood to create a bold graphic interpretation of the quintessential wall clock. Each installment in the series is limited to 88 pieces and will only be available through furnicreations.com. “

My friend Mike was kind enough to gift me with a stamp he had made after I advised him on the font choice [ egyptienne bold ] . This professional Trodat self-inking “meh” stamp is really useful for labeling things about which I feel indifferent. Here I’ve applied it to some half-baked sketches for a letterpress print I’m working on. Thanks Mike !

Tiny Showcase is selling a two color foil print edition of 500 called Reliquary One ( dead medium, hand of glory, magic bone ) 19” x 12.5”. A portion of the sales go to Amnesty International.
OR if that’s too shiny - a new operation called Working Proof is offering a signed letterpress edition of 75 - 11"x14”. Optimists Club printed right here in Brooklyn at The Arm letterpress studio. A portion of the proceeds from this print will go to Transportation Alternatives, an advocacy group for cyclists and public transit.

From the Factoria de Santos website...
“San Honesto is the patron saint against corruption, bribes and defender of truthfulness. Mission: To make a positive change in the world we have to start with ourselves. San Honesto’s mirror face reflects the image of the person praying to him. Citizens of the world can give San Honesto as a gift to corrupt individuals to awaken a change in consciousness and improve their behavior. If you believe people make miracles happen, start praying to San Honesto for a more honest planet. “
The Facoria de Santos is based in Mexico City, but has been manufacturing new saints for a world that could use a few more. And if looking into the mirror face doesn’t provide quite enough truth, a bottle of the San Honesto fair trade Mezcal should probably do the trick.
Eyelevel BQE is hosting a San Honesto group show starting December 11 Featuring works by myself, Vena2, Ciler, Bang Buro, Dr. Morbito, Monica Ruzansky, Gabriela Alva Cal y Mayor and Luisa Gloria Mota-Velasco.

Thanks to the good people at Artlog and the tireless/generous printers at FlavorPaper, I will be showing some work at the ARTLOG booth at Pulse this year. If you’re in the area, please come by. In fact, Artlog were so kind to make a map/guide showing all the fairs with updates and tweets and things like that.

The Museum of Arts and Design and American Craft Magazine are putting on a series of artists talks called In Print / In Process in which people like myself come talk a little and give a crafty demonstration. I can’t necessarily promise any profound insights into the world of wallpaper, but the MAD is a terrific institution and totally worth a visit. Plus thursday evening is pay-what-you-like style and perfect for these tough economic times. Many thanks to MAD for hosting and to American Craft for the generous article about my work in the October/November issue.
