[...]Q: I was wondering about your last comment in SL becoming bigger than the Web. The Web is very fast. SL is fascinating, but ti doesn’t have the immediacy of the Web. What are your visions for making SL as point and click and immediate as the Web?
A: How does it go from being very immersive but somewhat clumsy. Ajax Life is a great example. It’s an open source project that gives you a thin layer of applications. I talked earlier about Web services. We want to expose enough so that you can choose the immersiveness level appropriate to what time and activity you have to invest at the moment. That’s part of us moving away from being a Lab and into an OS. We need a great Google Map. Search itself is a major project, and you will see examples of that soon.[...]

The SLCC is a volunteer run organization. The organizers and volunteers have donated their time, expertise, skills and love of Second Life towards making a gathering of this size possible. The SLCC has been about bringing people together in the real world and celebrating the revolutionary 3D platform of Second Life. The SLCC first and foremost is about bringing the many representatives of the Second Life community together to network, build friendships and to discuss Second Life in a common forum. The lead organizers and track leaders are Randy Moss/RC Mars, Nethermind Bliss, Misty Rhodes, Madame Maracas, Moo Money, Crucial Armitage, Buddy Sprocket, Jeremy Kabumpo, Nexeus Fatale and Digi Weaver. Jennyfur and FlipperPA Peregrine are on in an advisory role, and continuing to lead the team in getting sponsorships and running registration and maintaining the blog and web site.
