Black Cinema: The Vintage Years

Black Cinema: The Vintage Years is an exhibition that chronicles the history and turbulent journey of the black film industry during the 20th century.  Through the production of “race films,” black actors had the opportunity to display the full range of their talents-free from stereotypes.  More than 50 rare and original screen-printed and stone-lithographed posters from Separate Cinema Archives will be on display in the museums Main Gallery...up until November 23, 2008.

It’s one of the best shows I have seen in a long time...these posters are extremely rare and need to be seen in person..it’s crazy to think that most of these artists are completely unknown..so support your regional museums this place has some great shows on going and coming up..
