New York, New York

When I was younger I went to a few comic conventions, circa 1979-1981. At one of these conventions held in the basement of the old Taft hotel, ( which either has been renamed or does not exist anymore) I met Darth Vader and got his autograph. I hung it on the wall next to my bed and I can’t front for years I truly believed that I legitimately had his real signature… On another note whoever did sign this had some nasty ass penmanship.

I meant “signed” ... A singing Vader would be kind of odd. Ha.

I have the very same picture, I got it at Macy’s somewhere in NYC or Long Island when I was 5 years old.  It still hangs in it’s original frame in my office (I am 36 now).  A prize possession to be sure.  It was also signed “Darth Vader” but in a black marker.  Also, when I saw him, I froze - and he put his hand on my shoulder and asked me my name which gave the crowd waiting huge laughs.  I was embarrassed, but still jazzed as all hell I got the autograph.
