I spotted this wall a few weeks ago on the corner of Grand and 6th ave...a few days later it was skim coated with cement.  If you look real close you can see the pencil marks - otherwise the picture speaks for itself....this wall has probably been sandwiched between two buildings for decades...just a brief glimpse of the past…

This is beautiful. i have a really nice collection of early-20th century Massachusetts hand-painted signs, mostly on brick.
When you mention seeing the pencil marks, do you mean the lines/guides the artist made before painting the letters?
What a great find, probably 40+ yrs old.
