After 8 amazing days in Mexico with my family, I landed yesterday in Newark after an 8 hours trip of car and plane. I get my family passports ready to go trough custom and the agent is telling us that we are missing our “green card advance parole forms”. I showed the agent the stamp of my advanced parole valid until August 2009 but he told us it was not enough and we have to follow him to another office. Once there, we waited in a shit hole with few depressed foreigners with equal or worst problems, nice neon light and 7 agents having fun around a computer. After an hour of wait, some shit in diapers, crying kids and wifee bugging out, somebody started to talk to us. A rookie! She is telling us that either somebody goes to our crib in Brooklyn to pick up the parole forms and come back to Newark airport or we have to stay there for a long ass interview. Are you for real a Friday night at 7 PM? Who the hell is gonna do that without our home keys. From there my wife gets her Polish groove on and a West Indies mama who happened to be the boss picked on her and gave us mad shit…. Abuse of power comes as no surprise… After this, we are put in a nice little box for a long ass interview done on computer materials from the late 80’s including fingers prints, photos and question after question. You have to remember all this with a 16 month old baby and a 4 years old kid… ( Both American !) It took us 3 hours to go trough this with 2 computer restarts, a printer that didn’t work and a rookie learning her job on us. It’s kinda of hard after being in the USA for almost 10 years paying mad taxes and having to go trough similar situation almost every time we cross the border. Oh and yes I have a month to go back there to show my paper or we’ll get deported. WELCOME HOME MEYER’S FAMILY, WELCOME HOME!
