New York, New York

Maybe this would be a good follow up to Mascots and Mugs. Chino, I know your down with NYHC. Think about it. wink

By the time I got into Hardcore it was a bit of dead spot in its history. (Maybe its more dead now?) I ended up catching the last wave of shows at City Gardens, in Trenton, NJ before it closed in the early 90’s. But mostly it was VFW halls. The Pipeline in Newark. Court Tavern, I remember one show in The Souls basement on Handy Street in New Brunswick. The city had shows at The Wetlands (RIP) Coney Island High (RIP) CB’s (RIP) Knitting Factory (RIP) Maybe it IS deader now. I don’t know, I have kids and stopped paying as much attention.

Busting flyers was one of my earliest artistic loves, maybe after comics and cartoons. I still have a pretty hefty collection and a very heavy influence in my art when I (or my clients) allow it to go there.

Wrongway Flyers were definitely the height of the talent in my time. But The stnadard has always been set with Sean Taggarts flyers if you ask me.

Here are some great classic HxC characters. Most of the time the characters are better than the graf for some reason. So don’t trip. Take it for what its worth.

I know this isnt the OG, but It was a larger resolution of the characters than what I could find otherwise.

yeah. I've pondered that one many a time. I used to redraw comics covers as a kid, eventually I moved onto redrawing flyer art. Definitely redrew that AF mosh pit many a time.
