New York, New York

This weekend was beast-mode for The Kid, I did three pieces in two days. I will post the others a little later, but first up was my personal favorite.
When I heard my man Mr.Wiggles TC-5 Rock Steady Crew FBA Zulu Kings was coming to town and wanted to piece, I thought about the Nogin Wiggles car that SEEN TC-5 and DOZE never got to finish.

I quickly whipped up a NOGIN2 outline

and we were ready to rock steady.

Wigz is so old school that he showed up with all Krylon! I was like Ummm, you aint really gonna try and outline with THAT are you? I gave him a Montana to outline with, but the fill is All American.

He also brought along my dude Pop-Master FABEL RSC TC-5 and TACK FBA TC-5, a real Art & Design H.S. reunion. Add DOC, DOVES, DEZO, and TATU X-MEN and we blazed the whole wall pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I don’t have shots of the entire wall yet. There was not enough bucket paint to really cover the background and, as I mentioned we worked pretty fast, but I guess its fitting that our attempt to finish an unfinished TC-5 car thirty-odd years later looks a little, well, unfinished. We had a blast though, and DOC had this 1983 Boom-Box on which FABEL played some old WHBI Zulu Beats tapes. The soundtrack of the day went a little something like this:

With a little bit of this: (Fabel was nice enough to give me a running translation and commentary on this one, which is apparently a gangster tale of this Little Johnny Baddass stick-up kid who runs around doing his dirt but, because his cousin is Police, nobody says nada.)

And now the sound of John Denver being strangled.

As soon as we finished Dezo, Tatu and I sped off to Bushwick for a little midnight marauding. But I will post those flicks a little later.

Both your sketch and the finished product are ill! I’m especially lovin’ the I in the Nogin piece man. Wigz is bringin’ the sickness too.

Hahaha why are you hatin’ on Krylon outlines though? I Only use Krylon, Rusto, and these two Canadian rust paint brands called Tremclad and Armor Coat. Certain colours of North American paints have better coverage and are more weather fast than their European competition.

@Dsub, true…if I’m bombing or doing a freight (unfortunatly rare for the ol’ man these days) I want to go Rusto, maybe some Kilz white, but doing a burner on a primed wall, nothing beats german technology. Krylon yellows and oranges run like wino-piss and require three coats to cover anything. Honestly, Molotov is my favorite to outline with, although I’m hearing good things about Montana’s new 94 0r 96 or whatever they call it. Have yet to try it out though.

Haha, yeah man I’ve never liked the Krylon yellow and orange. They’re both just terrible. The colours I still swear by from krylon are: Banner Red, Bahama Sea Blue, Hosta Leaf, Purple, True Blue, Hunter Green, and Equestrian.
Haven’t come across any other colours worth using, but shit dude, I find Banner Red still has as much pigment and coverage as the Spanish Mtn red, can’t speak for the German montana, Ironlak, or Belton as of yet though.

Yeah I’ve heard good things about the 94 line as well I can’t wait to get my hands on some smile.

It’s fuckin sick that you reply to us man, it’s awesome to be able to talk to a major influence of mine such as yourself.

Peace.
