Rachel Whiteread is one of my favorite artists. A British artist and the first woman to win the Turner prize, her work consists of casting negative spaces. The inside of a room, the inside of a house, the space beneath a table, books on a shelf, etc.
Check her out, she’s made a lot of really interesting and beautiful work.
“Plinth” Cast resin.
Untitled (Table), cast resin. The space underneath a table cast in resin.
“House” Cast concrete.
“Ghost” Cast plaster. The inside of a room cast in plaster.
“Sequel IV"Cast Plaster a bookshelf with books cast in plaster.
