A couple of years ago I bought a Canon G-7 digital camera. One of the best purchases I’ve made in some time.
Although one thing missing on the G-7 is the ability to shoot RAW files. I skipped upgrading to the G-9 because I was so satisfied with the G-7.
Canon just released the G-10, it came into the studio today and I’m really excited. I hope it lives up to the rep of the 7.
I shot everything with the G-7, all the product shots seen on this blog, artwork documentation, graff, everything, even the videos. Day, night, indoor, outdoor, and studio. If you want real versatility for a very reasonable price ($500) the G series is the only way to go.
Forget about the Leica, Lumix, and Sony, unless you just want something small and shoot all photos on auto for your face book.
This camera can create files big enough for a full page in a magazine. It has a hot shoe to sync with studio lights and it takes amazing night and low light shots, plus it shoots RAW files. I don’t think any other point and shoot comes close.
Plug into your computer retouch, crop, and you’re good. Technology that is helpful and cost effective.
